For staff across all divisions, the Nurse Educator evaluates, plans, coordinates, administers, evaluates, and records educational services, such as orientation, required education, continuing education, and competence assessment.

Qualifications:

• All members of staff who help with tracheostomies and other medical procedures should be trained in the proper maintenance and management of these medical devices.
• Enhance patient and caregiver understanding of sickness conditions via the use of several delivery mechanisms, such as telephone education, in-home instruction, or video training for injectable medications.
• Maintains awareness of the regulatory requirements related nursing staff education and competence evaluation while also coordinating programs to achieve these needs.
• Effectively teaches nursing staff to help with practice improvement (remediation), career progression, or advancement in clinical practice, Maintains and enhances clinical skills and competency in practice, and serves as a role model for evidence-based practice.
• Develops clinical unit-based educational strategies in cooperation with nursing leaders and unit-based educators to achieve targeted goals.
• Providing educational options such as orientation programs, individual development plans, in-service education, and continuing education opportunities, among other educational possibilities.
• Uses tools like needs assessments and quality-improvement activities to organize and/or deliver program materials that meet the needs of both individual participants and the department as a whole.
• Plans and carries out a good clinical preceptor program that includes training and support activities for preceptors and is based on evidence-based curriculum. Based on data about what happened, evaluates and changes parts of the preceptor program.
• In order to provide the best possible patient experience, it’s important to work with sales and reimbursement experts, as well as other matrix partners.
• Uses numerous successful teaching-learning approaches, including as lecture, case-study presentations, group learning activities, role-play, high-fidelity simulation scenarios, and return-demonstration skills labs.

Skills:

• Able to interact successfully with members of the community, hospital staff, colleagues, superiors, and subordinates. A minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience is necessary, with growing staff development or leadership responsibilities preferable.
• It is needed that you have a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. Current BLS necessary (BLS Instructor preferred). Preferred qualifications include holding a national certification in Nursing Professional Development or another clinical specialization.
• You need to have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to juggle many responsibilities and operate on your own without supervision.
• Candidates must have proven leadership skills and a commitment to education as a way to improve the quality of care and services for patients on a continuous basis.
• The successful completion of a baccalaureate-level, associate-level, or diploma-level professional nursing program that has been accredited is necessary. Required education level is a bachelor’s degree, with the option to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing being highly recommended. Master’s degree in nursing, with an emphasis in nursing education or a related field, is recommended.
