We are now seeking a vibrant and knowledgeable teaching assistant. In a normal classroom context, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for overseeing personal care, hygiene, and excellent behavior. As a teaching assistant, you will help the classroom teacher create activities for kids that have a focus on their physical, social, and emotional development and offer kids with tools and materials they may explore, play with, manipulate, and use in learning activities.

Qualifications:

  • Ensure and carry out daily and weekly housekeeping chores for the classrooms. These chores include, but are not limited to, sweeping floors after meals and activities, wiping tables and counters, cleaning changing tables, placing trash in appropriate containers, and washing, sterilizing, and putting away equipment (toys, laundry and dishes).
  • The duty of grading academic assessments as directed by the classroom instructor Pre-crisis intervention and conflict resolution, including the use of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) principles, authorized behavior modification techniques/strategies, and physical constraints, is the responsibility of this position.
  • Among other duties as assigned, maintains the appearance, cleanliness, and security of the classroom, helps students with mealtimes and clean-up, and contributes to the development and execution of lesson plans, programmed, and schedules.
  • There are no excuses for not going the extra mile in order to guarantee that your classroom runs well. When it comes to simple tasks like keeping a bulletin board up to date or sorting through student papers, the options are practically limitless. Copying, cleaning the classroom, and distributing grades are just a few of the many things they are capable of.
  • Claims reimbursement is supported by entering point-of-service meal counts into the appropriate forms or software. For the Child and Adult Care Food Program, this will aid with the collection and updating of accurate paperwork (CACFP).
  • Taking the lead in after-care, camp, and/or summer classes, establishing weekly lesson plans with age-appropriate practices and interesting activities, making sure all paperwork is in order (attendance sheets), and ensuring all safety precautions are observed.
  • Conveys with parents and caregivers in order to encourage a good relationship with the programmer, an understanding of the child’s needs and growth, and how the activities of the programmer support positive development.
  • In the absence of the usual instructor, the student may, for example, take complete responsibility for the classroom or design, submit, and implement a weekly lesson plan. As a result, the individual may also be accountable for the protection of kids within the classroom. If a regular employee is unable to show up for work, this trait indicates a readiness to fill in.
  • Assumes the responsibilities of the lead teacher when necessary and makes certain that all data collection and progress notes are finished within the time periods that have been allotted for the division, that they appropriately represent functional and programmed criteria, and that they are finished in a timely manner.
  • Took part in creating and implementing classroom lesson plans and schedules as well as other clerical tasks including sorting and folding papers, typing and laminating materials.

Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with parents, coworkers, and management as well as students of all ages and ability levels.
  • In addition to a high school diploma or its equivalent and the age of 18, applicants must also demonstrate attention, recall, immaculate execution, organization, reflection, courtesies, obedience, sincerity, fortitude, and temperance. Additionally, applicants must be at least 18 years old. Alternatively, the student must be involved in a work-study programmed at their high school that is related to child care.
  • High standards, direct instruction, structure, and discipline in a conventional classroom are prioritized together with positive reinforcement in order to ensure students fulfil their academic and civic potential.
  • Concentration, distance estimation (both close and far), reaching with outstretched arms, and computer manipulation are all possible simultaneously.
  • The bulk of their time is spent working in a classroom with climate control, but they also have to work in severely hot and freezing climates throughout the summer and winter months respectively.
