Job Description

The job of a lifeguard is to keep swimmers and spectators safe by enforcing safety regulations and reacting appropriately to emergencies, as well as teaching and encouraging good swimming practices and attitudes. People must be able to work on their own, but also as part of a larger team of employees. In order to succeed in this profession, you must be able to interact with the public in a number of ways. Additional hours may be necessary for special events, weekends, and even split shift employment.

Qualifications:

• Pool safety rules and procedures are followed, and these safe work practices and procedures, as well as established rules and policies, are followed.
• Washing the pool, cleaning the pool decks, cleaning and situating the pool furniture and lifeguard equipment, cleaning the bathhouse, cleaning the fence, and cleaning the flower bed areas are all part of the pool and pool area preparation for the summer season.
• The pool deck, break room, bathrooms, and drains should be kept clean.
• To carry out the duties of this profession, you must be able to read, write, interpret, and communicate in English, as well as be able to assist with the preservation of a range of accident reports.
• They perform tasks like as preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of the water in addition to being lifeguards.
• To provide aquatic services for the club, which include instructing swimmers, supervising group swim activities, and aiding with other aquatic program activities.
• Pool house and gutters, as well as pool water chemicals, are looked after by the person who works at the pool.
• Responds courteously to members’ and visitors’ inquiries, gives information according with the assignment’s scope, and addresses complaints in a timely and efficient manner.
• Adheres to and enforces all Club safety rules and procedures for members and guests while using the pool area.
• Make sure to keep an eye out for any infractions of the pool’s rules and regulations while teaching youngsters to swim or spending time with their families.

Skills:

• Professional rescuers must currently complete CPR, lifeguarding, and community first aid training via the American Red Cross.
• Having the ability to build and sustain excellent working connections with co-workers, departments, and members of the public.
• To be successful in this role, you must have experience working with children and others with disabilities.
• This role requires a high school diploma or a GED.
• Work experience as a lifeguard for at least three months is required.
