The Payroll Accountant will be primarily responsible for performing all aspects of payroll administration for employees, reviewing and processing employee reimbursable expenses, managing expenses processed through corporate credit cards, preparing payroll-related analysis and account reconciliations, and performing various other duties in support of the Company’s business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Utilize both exempt and non-exempt employees to manage the company’s comprehensive payroll operations across the country.
  • Manage payroll processes across many states and guarantee that all employees are paid on time and properly, and that all applicable taxes are paid to local authorities. This comprises establishing, managing, and analyzing payroll processing systems to assure the processing of payroll transactions, such as salaries, benefits, garnishments, loans, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Strategically assess the payroll department’s needs, then develop and streamline processes and procedures to suit.
  • Internal/external audit and legislative protocols must be adhered to in order for payroll to be compliant.
  • We are accountable for maintaining and updating our payroll system to reflect the hourly rates (hours worked), salaries (including commissions and bonuses), paid time off (including accrued vacation), and holidays for each of our workers (as well as other information). Check the precision of our employees’ timekeeping records and get their feedback on any discrepancies. This role handles modifications to the payroll, such as new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes. Payroll deductions for perks and taxes need to be precise. Make every effort to maintain payroll and HR records.

  • Work in tandem with accounting and finance to accurately and promptly reconcile all payroll accounts; supports audits by giving auditors access to records and supporting materials.
  • Build and maintain connections with important stakeholders, including as vendors, external auditors, HR, benefits, and finance, in order to achieve multi-departmental process improvements.
  • Payrolls should be reviewed and approved on a regular basis in order to maintain a tight control environment.
  • Establishing effective operational procedures, measurements, and standards will instill a customer service mindset in payroll.

Skills:

  • At least 3–4 years of experience with payroll is needed.
  • Understanding of responsible plans, relevant policies, and legal requirements, as well as familiarity with and knowledge of cost reimbursement and reporting.
  • Knowledge and expertise with regard to the taxability of income, deductions, and employer-provided benefits in various jurisdictions.
  • A bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience; or a mix of education and experience.
  • Having a degree in accounting, management, or economics and extensive practical experience.
