A Geotechnical Engineer with 0 to 3 years of experience is now needed to assist our group. The applicant will assist in the design and field activities (e.g., geotechnical modeling and analysis, foundation design) (soil boring advancement, instrument installation and monitoring, field inspections, etc.). Be self-motivated, devoted to a team atmosphere, and able to work on projects of varying complexity.

Qualifications:

• Carry out fieldwork in conjunction with foundation design and construction projects, including subsurface testing and examination of soil and bedrock conditions. This may entail supervising the installation of deep and shallow foundations, conducting test boring inspections, and making ground modifications.
• Prepare engineering calculations and analyses relating to material quantities, embankments, shallow and deep foundations, settlement, soil and rock slope stability, and retaining walls while following the instructions of senior members of the engineering team.
• Perform slope stability, seepage, and/or settlement assessments in support of dams and levees, waste dumps, and so on, under the supervision of senior engineering professionals.
• Assist in the creation of technical proposals, cost estimates, engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and other deliverables related to design projects, as well as routine communication.
• Perform a broad variety of geotechnical engineering analysis and designs, such as slope stability assessments, seismic evaluations, shallow and deep foundation designs, ground improvement designs, excavation and shoring evaluations, and other tough technical assessments. Participate in
• Prepare plans for the construction of landfills and other waste containment facilities, as well as the installation of geotechnical instruments.
• Deliver mining, infrastructure, and water resources project services to the company’s public and private sector customers by providing geotechnical engineering services and assistance.
• Design, construction, water management, reclamation of degraded mined land, gypsum stacks’ operations/closure, as well as knowledge of phosphate mining.
• using either more conventional technical tools or computer-based technical tools in order to accomplish engineering calculations (for example, slope stability, excavation support, settlement, etc.)
• Manage and deliver laboratory and field geotechnical and construction materials testing projects in a safe manner, on schedule, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction in accordance with project specifications.

Skills:

• Great written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail along with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; the ability to successfully operate alone as well as in a team context
• Extensive expertise in subsurface investigations, including drilling techniques, test pit excavation, geophysics, inclinometers, and groundwater transducers installation and monitoring
• Education and/or training in the practical applications of foundation engineering, slope stability, and seismic assessment studies towards the development of practical engineering solutions
• Outdoorsmanship and the ability to operate in adverse weather conditions in distant and hazardous field areas Long distance trips and occasional overnight stays are possible.
• EIT certification or the ability to get EIT certification within six months after graduation from an ABET-approved college or university in civil or geological engineering is available.
