It is the responsibility of the Loan Officer to oversee their assigned zone. They will promote Client’s competitive mortgage products, services, and programs in their assigned offices; consult with customers about their current and future needs to help them achieve financing needs; and identify, develop, and maintain a quality network of business relationships that will serve as a recurring source of referrals for new lending opportunities. The Loan Officer’s primary responsibilities are to initiate and complete quality loan volume through sales and marketing operations, as well as to gather and review all necessary supporting loan documentation.

Qualifications:

• Responsible for staying up-to-date on all corporate and investor requirements for both government- and privately-insured mortgages, including but not limited to origination, processing, appraisal, underwriting, and closing.
• Assessing possible lending markets and establishing referral networks might help you locate prospective borrowers for loans.
• Market goods to people and businesses while highlighting client services that satisfy customers’ needs.
• Enhanced loan applications and supporting documents can be achieved by informing the applicant of additional requirements.
• Writes sales reports, prepares itineraries, and participates in marketing and promotional efforts to help meet sales targets.
• Meet with customers to obtain information for loan applications and answer questions about the process.
• Mortgage application issues can often be resolved through discussions with processing and underwriting.
• Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services.
• Determine whether or not to grant a loan by reviewing an applicant’s income, debt, and property.
• Take advantage of opportunities to further your education and professional development, read relevant magazines, build your network, and participate in industry-specific organizations to keep your skills and knowledge current.

Skills:

• The Loan Officer will have strong verbal and written communication skills, and they will be able to deal effectively with a wide range of community members.
• competent with common software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience in originating new business from customers in the buying market, ideally within the last three years, and with a minimum of three years’ worth of contacts and relationships already in place.
• Analytical prowess is required for tasks such as assessing credit applications and spotting industry trends.
• Excellent understanding of retail product ethos, policy, underwriting, processes, documentation, and systems.
