According to the company’s fundamental beliefs and purpose, Life Coaches help people with developmental disabilities and/or mental disorders in a range of community and home settings by providing support, direction, companionship, and training in both direct and indirect ways. De-escalating verbal or physical aggression in accordance with established processes and client/site norms may be a part of this role.

Qualifications:

• Motivate, acknowledge, and involve people in a positive environment by making use of suitable communication and activities that are specifically designed for them.
• Carry out the needs assessment by collecting information from the member, the member’s family, stakeholders, and any other interested parties.
• Assure the participants’ safety at home by keeping a close eye on the area and being aware of any treatment complications that may arise.
• Follows and shows the core values, mission, policies, procedures, and compliance plan of the company in all aspects of this job.
• As indicated, help with personal hygiene. Assist with daily care of residents by washing, dressing in seasonal apparel, grooming, shaving, combing hair, putting on shoes, and other care requirements to safeguard resident dignity.
• Training in daily living and coping, social and sexual skills, as well as support services, helped the individual progress toward self-sufficiency.
• Take 15-minute checks on residents allocated to your care throughout your shift and with the prior shift, as well. Go around to the next shift before you depart. The nurse will check you out before you go.
• Knowledge of the treatment needs of people who have mental health, substance use, and co-occurring conditions; knowledge of basic counseling skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative, professional relationships with clients, other staff, and community agencies; ability to work in an environment that emphasizes teamwork; ability to assume responsibility with a minimal amount of supervision and direction;
• Need to be kind, patient, and truthful. If you’re dealing with residents’ families or visitors, use tact and common sense while interacting with them or any other members of the team.

Skills:

• As a minimum, two years of direct service in social service, including at least one year spent working with low-income families or those who have experienced domestic violence.
• Language Learners, kids with special needs, kids who have been in or are in the child welfare system, kids who don’t have enough money to live on their own, and kids from single-parent homes all need help.
• A year-long group facilitation cycle that involves analyzing requirements, planning, implementing, coordinating and finally evaluating based on collected data is required. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and motivating abilities
• Effective problem-solving capabilities with a focus on the details Experience and sensitivity in dealing with the poor, Ability to distinguish between personal and professional matters and to establish limits with members
• Training in a related subject or previous experience working with persons with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses is highly recommended.
