With the Market Manager’s direction, the Assistant Branch Manager oversees the branch’s day-to-day operations to boost productivity and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Advice and instruction are given to branch employees on a regular basis on goods, services, processes, procedures, etc. Collaborates with the Market Manager on matters of staffing, including scheduling employees and resolving any conflicts that may arise. Maintains necessary records, such as staff evaluations and time sheets, for the Market Manager to examine. In the absence of the Market Manager, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, including the teller area and customer service. Responsible for new business development of deposits and consumer loans. Knows how to respond to inquiries about the full range of banking services offered and is adept at spotting high-quality possibilities to make sales and referrals.

Qualifications:
- Manages the branch while the manager is not present or when there is no branch manager on site. Develops plans with the manager to increase branch sales and profitability. In addition, the assistant manager helps to coordinate the organization’s policies, principles, and practices for procurement, inventory management, shipping and receiving, warehousing, and sales.
- Complete all forms and data entry related to account opening, account maintenance, and transactions accurately. You’ll also need to complete any other tasks that you might be given, such as account maintenance, onboarding new members, processing data entry for consumer loan applications, funding consumer loans, and more. Trusts, business checking and savings accounts, and home equity lines of credit are just a few of the options offered.

- Contributes to the branch manager’s HR efforts, such as hiring, reviewing employees’ progress toward goals, and creating new ones. Simplifies the process of teaching and training subjects including banking procedures, product sales, and customer service.
- Oversees activities associated with industry affairs and trade show events, such as exhibiting, special events, and lead generation follow-up; maintains a self-development programmed by updating technical and management skills through completion of training plan prescribed for position, attendance at relevant seminars and classes, and reading relevant journals and publications.
Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, accounting, or a related subject. Possess excellent customer service, communication, and presentation skills, and meet all of these requirements with a combination of education, skills, and experiences that may be accepted in place of a degree. Additionally, you must demonstrate leadership and high integrity to make wise independent decisions while interacting and cooperating with all company employees.
- A retail banking environment with one to two years of supervisory management experience is necessary, ideally in the position of assistant branch manager. In addition, the incumbent must be able to operate independently and multitask in a hectic setting. Those who have been with the bank for a while must have a track record of strong sales, customer service, and any relevant management triumphs.
- Professional understanding of retail compliance controls, knowledge of risk management, and expert knowledge of branch operations and procedures; able to adapt, flex, and operate energetically in a workplace with continuously altering objectives and responsibilities.
- Possess extroverted team-oriented sales personality with exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, exudes confidence with customers while presenting solutions and sharing product knowledge, and has the ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities. Additionally, they should have excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone and be able to tailor the features and benefits of solutions to customers with varying financial needs.
- In some cases, depending on your level of fitness, you may be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. You should be able to remain seated or standing for 60 minutes without getting up. Usually not, however a graduate education can sometimes eliminate the need for a 10-key calculator or for stooping to perform certain tasks.
