The Plumber is in charge of inspecting, testing, installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing plumbing and plumbing-related components of a system.

Qualifications:

• Heating boiler and accessory maintenance, including radiators, valves, pipe circulators, air compressors, condensate pumps, steam traps, and so on. All air change systems must be maintained.
• Using methods such as main line location and taping, system routing, opening placement and cutting, and the placement of hangers, a plumber installs, changes, and repairs plumbing. When pipes are properly leveled and sloped, the need of valves, traps, and unions may be determined. Backflow prevention devices are tested, repaired, replaced, and installed according to local jurisdictional regulations.
• Investigates faults or malfunctions in plumbing systems and fittings. Removes defective parts from devices. Calibrations, dimensions, and manufacturer’s specifications of used components and equipment are examined. Performs system and equipment testing and calibration to ensure optimum system performance.
• Plan and put out the route, placement, fall, and appropriate functioning of plumbing systems and equipment by interpreting architectural designs, blueprints, and drawings. Completion of system routing and placement; installation, connection, and testing of equipment. Determining which pieces are necessary for a task well done. Pipe and connector locations are marked on walls and floors.
• Hand and power tools are needed to assemble and install a range of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings and valves. Among the metals that have been used are iron, steel, brass, and lead. These include glass and vitrified clay, which are both nonmetallic.
• Scheduled inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting of plumbing equipment according to codes, schematics, operating manuals, and manufacturer’s maintenance instructions.
• Service-oriented Excellence is attained by reacting quickly to requests, communicating progress, and following up once a work is complete. Done.
• Hand and power tools are used to cut holes in walls and floors for pipe connections. To cut and thread pipe, employ pipe cutters, cutting torches, and threading machines. Pipe may be bent by hand or using a machine or block.
• Respond to service calls and requests for plumbing-related equipment operation, repair, maintenance, installation, and removal (including dining specific equipment).
• Leak-detection and preventative maintenance checks are performed, as well as soldering and brazing of tubing and pipe. Lead joints and seat equipment are also poured and installed. Water heater, tank, sink, or shower installation and replacement in accordance with manufacturers’ requirements via the use of recognized processes and test equipment.

Skills:

• Plumbing procedures and regulations are well-understood. Building regulations, as well as maintenance principles and procedures, are all important. Ability to detect and resolve issues with the water and plumbing systems
• Evidence of the completion of a minimum four-year apprenticeship program, resulting in the appointment of a journeyman plumber.
• Working in pipe gaps between walls and crawl spaces beneath structures, from roofs (vents) to sewage ditches and manholes, is physically possible for this individual.
• In order to do all of a job’s tasks, a person needs to be able to read blueprints and engineering drawings, do math, and use both hand and power tools correctly. Just a few examples are listed above.
• Any combination of education, skills, and experience that is comparable to having completed high school might be considered an equivalent. Preferred education level is a technical degree from an institution of higher learning that is recognized for its technical programs.
