The Lead Carpenter is responsible for carrying out the task from start to finish, including organizing trade contractors, construction site supervision, carpenter labor, and producing mandatory reports and paper trails.

Qualifications:

• Lead the workforce and collaborate closely with the subcontractors to make certain that each project is finished on schedule and within the allotted spending limit, as well as the highest quality standards in the industry.
• Read and understand architectural, structural, MEP, and/or sketch drawings and plans. Verify field measurements and structural accuracy; report discrepancies to the Superintendent.
• Communicate with your Project Manager on a regular basis on the project’s progress, as well as any prospective difficulties or delays that might affect the budget and/or schedule.
• Make sure you understand the significance of layout and perform it correctly since it will have an impact on your work throughout the project.
• Maintain the highest standards of hospitality for all visitors as well as your customers and suppliers. Attend and, on occasion, conduct meetings and training sessions for guests’ services.
• Apply varied materials and media to different contexts when building (wood framing, metal framing, CDX-walnut veneer, drywall, fiberglass, etc.).
• Serve as the company’s representative on-site and be ultimately accountable for the project’s quality, safety, budget, and timeline.
• Materials that may be used with this tool include wood and plastic, fiberglass and drywall Lays out work by measuring items or distances using a square, measuring tape, or ruler.
• Job responsibilities include directing and supervising the full range of skilled carpentry work as outlined in the series overview; directing, instructing and working with a small group or crew of Carpenters and assist; instructing others in safety rules and ensuring that they are observed; selecting and preparing lists of materials for jobs, maintaining stock material in the warehouse; inspecting carpentry work to ensure it meets quality requirements and specifications; and maintaining stock material in the warehouse.
• As instructed by the Facilities Engineer and Lead Carpenter, set up pre-event and support fabrication and facility requirements. Build and retain consumer loyalty.

Skills:

• Light commercial construction experience, a high school certificate or GED, and a recognized trade school credential are necessary. People who can lift 90 pounds or more must climb ladders and scaffolds and crawl through narrow areas.
• The ability to work outside in all kinds of weather is a must. A valid driver’s license and insurance company underwriting standards must be met in order to participate in this program. Pre-employment drug test is required.
• At least one year of experience as a journeyman carpenter, including tasks like coordinating work. Know everything there is to know about rough and finished carpentry processes, tools, and materials.
• Understanding the most effective methods of leading and supervising others. The ability to accurately estimate the cost of a job, as well as the supplies and materials necessary; develop a list of items; ensure that the work is done in order; maintain records; and prepare more elaborate reports are among the abilities required..
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a staff carpenter, with some exposure/experience directing projects or portions of them, and the ability to manage and organize trade contractors, suppliers, and personnel.
