Qualifications:

• For the purpose of ensuring the creation of programs for accumulating as well as evaluating data on economic, social and physical aspects that impact land use as well as for creating visual and narrative reports on data.
• Assists in the creation of planning improvement and the modification of projected goals in accordance with the results of statistical data collection and statistical research and comparison.
• Operating a range of office equipment, software, and operations that are typical to the contemporary commercial office with ease.
• In order to ensure a successful and efficient operation and to meet or surpass customers’ expectations, develop a daily delivery plan that makes use of available equipment, labour, and other resources.
• Clear, concise, and accurate verbal and written communication with programmers at all levels within the organization.
• Documents for public hearings, meetings, and presentations to the Board of Directors are produced by this individual. Proposed projects are given to municipal governments, planning commissions, architectural design review boards, and the general public.
• Responsibilities include project management, planning, and implementation of community and stakeholder engagement projects.
• Assist in writing and maintaining the Comprehensive Plan, which includes coordinating, writing, presenting, and processing plan chapters and amendments, status reports, and other related activities, as well as other tasks.
• An urban planner oversees zoning and other aspects of city planning. They suggest and execute any modifications in the city’s zoning plan review process or urban planning programme, as well as any procedural changes they propose and implement (i.e amendments to the plans, site plans, drawings, and reports, etc).
• Obtains, examines, and processes development applications, including site plans, subdivision requests, conditional use permits, and other land development proposals, and verifies that these applications are in accordance with both the UDC and the Comprehensive Plan

Skills:

• An undergraduate degree in urban planning, environmental planning, regional planning, or urban design as well as a minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in a municipal planning and zoning function, with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, is required. A bachelor’s degree is also required.
• Knowledge of the physical, social, and cultural characteristics of a community is critical. Site and urban planning trends must also be taken into account. Understanding legal concepts is critical to understanding land use regulations as well as other real estate legislation.
• The ability to apply concepts and methods of urban planning and redevelopment at the highest level of professionalism, as well as hands-on experience in doing so
• Required are a willingness to learn rapidly and a thorough understanding of local zoning laws, regulations, and ordinances.
• Resilient under pressure; the capacity to handle challenges and make successful judgments, together with rapid and logical thinking.
