Job Description

A tax preparer places a premium on honing sophisticated technical abilities as well as exercising professional judgment and critical thinking. A Tax Preparer handles a wide range of sophisticated client work, demonstrating extensive knowledge in all aspects of accounting, tax, advice, and consulting. Tax Preparers examine the work of Staff Accountants and Paraprofessionals, plan and execute staff training, and take over client administration. Tax preparers will also examine and interpret reports and client data in order to help management with workload planning and operations.

  • Examine accounts and records and utilize available sources to create industry-specific state and local tax returns for clients in accordance with prescribed rates, rules, and regulations; update returns in a timely manner at the request of the client or authorized reviewer.
  • Manage the fixed asset system to ensure that additions, disposals, and impairments are documented and depreciated correctly for book and tax purposes. Prepare real and personal property tax forms, as well as monthly sales tax returns, with the goal of assuring correctness and timely submission.
  • Interact professionally and promptly with Tax Preparation Mid-Level Reviewer, Tax Senior, and Tax Resolution Manager. Answer/transfer calls and inform customers on case progress as required.
  • Research tax concerns in all related areas, write up findings, and maintain legislative documents by evaluating, interpreting, and applying new or amended legislation.
  • To guarantee timely filings, assist with the development of the quarterly income tax provision, including quarterly tax estimates and year end extension estimates.
  • Assist customers with incoming calls pertaining to direct tax inquiries and arrange appointments; provide completed transaction tax returns employing a variety of techniques (paper, electronic filing, and electronic data interchange) with a variety of government authorities.
  • Keep accurate tax records and perform tax research based on industry-specific state and local tax return instructions and legislation, using statutory and regulatory interpretations.
  • Contact clients to get the information and documents you need, Do other tasks related to the job and take part in special projects as needed, Find out how much it costs to prepare a form and send a bill.
  • Assist with federal, state, foreign, and property tax research. For tax authority audits, as well as other ad hoc initiatives, he assists and acquires information
  • To file tax returns for individuals and corporations as well as for trusts and partnerships. Maintain a tax strategy if necessary. Be a source of knowledge for both internal and external advisers. Work with other departments to help with tax preparation as required. Support.


  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is a need in today’s workplace. Capacity to comprehend and apply complex technical procedures and regulatory guidelines in a clear and concise manner. Communication and report writing skills for business objectives
  • Analyzes the financial records of the company (Balance Sheet and Income Statement) to ensure that they are accurate and depict the business in a transparent manner.
  • Ability to learn new software skills and be good at using Microsoft Office Suite programs like Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The ability to understand math concepts and use them – Figure out how to use math concepts like proportional thinking and percentages.
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar professional experience in the fields of accounting or finance is required, as is 4+ years’ experience as a tax preparer, ideally in an office with a lot of clients.
  • Verifies the accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental requirements of accounting records, such as financial statements and other financial reports.
