Professional Cost Estimators are needed to expand our team. The Cost Estimator will collaborate with other contractor engineers and program managers as well as government engineers and program managers to support the government program office teams. Conduct scientific work that includes the creation, development, and adaption of mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific procedures and techniques. Manage, monitor, and/or lead the work. Analyze management issues and provide counsel and insight into the outcomes of potential solutions.

Qualifications:

• Maintain pertinent documentation in the project management information system (e-Builder), Cost estimating performance should be monitored and tracked (e.g., budget vs bid results)
• An item’s installation on a corporate server necessitates the preparation of a detailed cost analysis.
• Gather and reduce data, provide the facts for analysis, and construct mathematical assertions to set the stage for the investigation of the matter.
• Product Management and Technical Support should work together to verify the product’s financial feasibility and its position in the allotted product lines.
• The effect of budget adjustments on funded programs and other cost problems should be discussed in presentations and briefings to the executive leadership team.
• A WBS, or Work Breakdown Structure, will be created by the Cost Estimating Division to make estimating costs easier.
• It is necessary to provide cost estimates for all project deliverables, such as preliminary design and final design as requested by the Cost Estimator. Create and negotiate estimates for Additional / Credit Change Orders in construction and contractor bid packages as required for project budget management.
• Make use of the outputs provided by cost estimate software in order to evaluate the effect that a variety of variables have on the amount of money required to plan, conduct research and development on, run, maintain, and eventually get rid of a certain weapon system.
• Maintain open lines of communication with the design team, as well as with the in-house personnel and the subcontractors. Obtains cost bids from subcontractors. Notifies the immediate supervisor of any inconsistencies or omissions that have been spotted in the items being quoted or in the computer database.
• Work collaboratively with a worldwide, cross-functional team that includes Contracts and Finance to assist customer fact-finds, audits, and negotiations.

Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture necessary; or any degree with construction/design experience; 2+ years of continuous electrical cost estimation for vertical building/engineering projects preferable.
• Exceptional arithmetic abilities, understanding of machine tool industry materials and component prices, reading part drawings (including GD&T), interpersonal interactions, negotiating skills, phone skills, ERP system competence, and experience with Microsoft Office.
• a solid grasp of the fundamentals of arithmetic, as well as some familiarity with and experience working with fundamental statistics and statistical reporting, It would be beneficial to have knowledge of wind loads, welding and fastening processes, and weight loads for structural steel.
• Capability to comprehend and properly interpret construction papers (drawings, specifications, contracts/general conditions) at all stages of design.
• This position necessitates familiarity with efficient sign or fabrication metal assembly processes and best practices.
