Job Description

The complete spectrum of tasks that assure the business unit’s operational excellence and effectiveness fall within the purview of the budget analyst. The budget analyst will help with process design, forecasting, and budgeting. They will also offer relevant suggestions that will improve operational performance. The Budget Analyst will support the monitoring and analysis of productivity and workload trends, budget to actual spending variations utilizing Hyperion and PeopleSoft, and will aid in formulating suitable suggestions that will enhance the collection, data entry, and financial reporting. When working on important initiatives for the facility and the budget department, the budget analyst will support the budget director. The PeopleSoft/Hyperion application(s) assigned will have the Budget Analyst as the functional expert.

Qualifications:

  • Creates numerous spreadsheets for monthly and inter-facility charge-backs, inter-departmental reclassifications, and tracking consignment cash receipts. Aids in the creation of reports for the monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings of the departmental budget.
  • Being accessible and attentive to all company-provided training is responsible for assisting in one’s own self-development.
  • Process, monitor, and manage departmental budgets using the ARF (Employee Request) database and PeopleSoft accounting software (Hyperion).
  • A commitment to integrity, knowledge and quality of work, support for financial goals of the company, willingness to work with others to achieve goals, problem solving and discretion, and willingness to take ownership and responsibility for one’s actions are all examples of Core Competencies that can be integrated into daily activities.

  • Periodically gathers with pertinent staff to review workloads within departments and submitted statistics.
  • Provides reviews of management and internal controls, performance evaluation, aid with activity-based cost management, and financial oversight of agency activities. Responsible for regularly assessing operational budgets to look for and assess trends that affect budget needs.
  • Executes a wide range of financial management tasks such as budgeting, forecasting, tracking expenses, calculating revenues, and implementing financial controls in order to assist in achieving organizational goals.
  • Participates in the gathering and analysis of financial data for all offices, as well as competitive benchmarking in the legal services industry, utilizing the analyst’s current market knowledge base.
