Job Description

Both clinical and administrative responsibilities fall under the purview of the Administrative Medical Assistant. The chosen applicant must be a Certified Medical Assistant and hold one of the following credentials: CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA; if not, they must be willing to get certified within 90 days of employment. The ideal applicant will also have a good combination of front-office and clinical abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Explores community resources available to meet the clients’ needs.
  • Reports any actual or alleged infraction of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment, or other illegal acts in accordance with the reporting guidelines established by the company.
  • Provides clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
  • Assisting with outpatient procedures and appointment scheduling.
  • Determines when more information on a policy is needed and contacts either the Compliance, Human Resources, or Legal teams for assistance in obtaining that information.
  • Assist people in learning how to maintain their health, avoid being sick, and take charge of their own healthcare.
  • Reads and adheres to the organization’s code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies, and procedures, as well as other corporate responsibilities, such as participating in mandatory training programs.
  • Assistance with patient care provided through electronic health records, a registry for diseases, documentation prompts, and standard operating procedures.
  • Help providers with the completion of home health orders and documentation.
  • Participate actively and constructively in meetings as needed.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of and experience with basic computer software and applications, preferably Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • One year of experience working in a hospital, clinic, or other health care facility’s administrative office.
  • Possessing expertise in patient check-in, payment processing, and discharge procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to a constantly shifting work environment are essential.
  • You must have reliable transportation within a certain radius to reach customer or patient sites.
