We are looking for an experienced Associate Editor to help run an award-winning quarterly print magazine that focuses on the agriculture industry. An understanding of AP style as well as an ability to work well with others in a team are critical to success.

Qualifications:

• Including all forms of content, including recipes and tales, into the broader editorial strategy of a company (digital, print, social, podcast, video, etc)
• Product assessments, culinary instructions, and interviews with professional and amateur chefs for print and digital periodicals are some of my responsibilities.
• Establish excellent working ties with colleagues in production, JEO, IT, and other departments to ensure that any issues with your journal, especially those faced by authors, editors, and peer reviewers, can be handled quickly and efficiently.
• Assist the guiding of content production and editorial direction within the editorial team, external resources, and with other departments.
• Continuously monitor and assess departmental systems and processes in order to create and execute unique ideas that will improve how we function.
• Use well-articulated verbal and written remarks as well as practical, constructive counsel when dealing with content that involves concerns such as excessive violence or explicit language or explicit material or commercial product placement.
• Planning a document for each article that includes approved sources, background material and formatting guidelines as well as a list of deadlines for each piece.
• Understand and manage yearly objectives for journal submission, publication, and transfer volumes, as well as turnaround times.
• Achieve a high level of engagement from Editors in Chief (EIC) and Editorial Board Members (EBM).
• ensure that advertisements adhere to corporate brand standards and regulatory requirements from the beginning of the creative process to its final edit, and evaluate a wide range of marketing evidence, scientific evidence, and other substantiation that is used to support advertising claims.

Skills:

• Have the skill and willingness in an ever-changing, high-pressure environment to efficiently manage multiple competing demands on one’s time.
• Through grasp of internet publishing and content management systems, as well as content development tools like Adobe Photoshop
• Capacity to work well with various departments (Art, Photography, and the Test Kitchen) as well as with freelancers and other contributors at all levels of the brand
• interpersonal skills and capacity to communicate effectively and cooperate with others at all levels of the organization
• Nominees should have at least three to five years of journalistic or writing skills, as well as a basic understanding of SEO and newsletter design.
