Job Description

The Project Accountant will be directly responsible to the Senior Project Accountant and support the financial/accounting aspects of project management by handling project accounting and cost reporting for several projects, as well as regular communication with project management, clients, and subcontractor staff.

Qualifications:

• Ensures that the databases for utilities and construction projects are accurately updated by monitoring them.
• Monitoring and evaluating project performance financials would take up the majority of your workdays
• Must be extremely well-organized, capable of setting priorities among conflicting requests, focused on details, accurate, and able to double-check work.
• Ensures that change orders, invoices, and additional services are applied to the appropriate account. Assembles and approves the transfer of costs or encumbrances from the general fund to the appropriate accounts for assessment.
• The creation and coordination of specific financial reports related to building projects.
• The project accounting manager, the regional financial manager, and the project managers are all involved in your work.
• Verify that the subconsultant budget was created according to the contract’s specifications.
• Manage projects from a financial standpoint that have been allocated to you by the project accounting manager.
• Be able to identify issues before project profits start to erode and, if required, assist in the development of a corrective action plan.
• It is your duty to read the contract carefully and comprehend its provisions on the type of project, the range of the activity, and the terms of invoicing.

Skills:

• Computer abilities (Microsoft Office) are required, and expertise with Oracle Accounting software is preferable. Excel proficiency at the Beginner Level is a must.
• Requires a strong sense of responsibility, dependability, adaptability, and teamwork, as well as the will to take on new challenges.
• Must be able to recognize issues and offer suggestions for solutions. Basic knowledge of policies and procedures is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of and ability for applying considerable expertise to challenging concepts and practices in fiscal management.
• Excellent written and spoken English language skills are essential for this role.
