Financial and commercial transaction data is prepared and maintained in accordance with approved protocols by the Accounting Coordinator, who also generates reports to guarantee accurate accounting records. Performs entry-level accounting and sophisticated clerical tasks. Accomplishes low-level accounting and bookkeeping duties. Reconciles and verifies the correctness of financial records by entering entries into a journal or voucher. Confirmation, sorting, archiving and posting of all types of claims, bills, invoices and vouchers. Professionally communicates with customers, vendors, and coworkers, ensuring that all inquiries are promptly and correctly addressed. – Fulfills all duties entrusted to him or her in order to effectively serve the needs of the department or organization.

  • Examine all documents to ensure accuracy (customer, lien holder, manufacturer, county and financial information)
  • Process and update member service orders in the customer information system, including new member connections, transfers, meter exchanges, difficulty calls, and concerns regarding excessive bills.
  • Maintains a record of operational budgets, generates reports on them, and works with department managers to analyze and justify budget performance.
  • Resolves walk-in and phone-in general member service inquiries concerning member accounts, billing and payment issues and other service order-type responsibilities such as excessive bill complaints and notice of outage occurrences.
  • Assists with budgeting; ensures departments are using software correctly; and generates quarterly departmental reports for dissemination.
  • Attends training sessions and takes part in them to advance their knowledge, skills, and safety on the job.
  • As a team player, you will need to tell your coworkers important information often in a very fast-paced setting.
  • Assists in conducting a review and reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers with general ledger control accounts, including material inventories, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • This individual writes memos and letters in addition to contributing to special initiatives as needed.
  • Vendor file upkeep and payment reconciliations, as well as the resolving of invoice disputes.


  • Mathematical abilities include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, regular fractions, and decimals. Being able to calculate percentages, ratios, and rates as well as to create and analyze graphs.
  • A basic knowledge of how PC-based Windows software functions. Ability to use a spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Education/Experience: Preferred: Associate’s degree in finance and/or accounting or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; one to two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Capable of working properly in a fast-paced, stressful, ever-changing workplace while paying close attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the English language is required for tasks such as deciphering and applying safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Report writing and correspondence skills. The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively before groups of people, whether they are members of the organization or not.
