Job Description

We need a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to enhance patients’ mobility. You’ll work closely with the physical therapist to treat individuals with medical disorders that impair movement or function.

Qualifications:

  • Provide therapy services planned, delegated, and supervised by a qualified Physical Therapist that are in line with the patient’s approved Plan of Treatment. Observe patients while they are getting treatment, put together data, and let the Physical Therapist know how the patient is doing.
  • Become a part of performance-enhancing projects as they arise. Gathering data and determining fundamental causes may provide opportunities for improvement if the correct information is given.
  • Keep accurate and comprehensive records of patient care activities and assessments on the day on which they were performed. Producing patient progress notes for licensed therapists.
  • As a healthcare provider, it is your responsibility to keep track of patients’ medical histories, functional status, treatment plans, progress, status, precautions, and other relevant information.
  • All residents who are in need of rehabilitative services will get such services from the PTA. This involves providing direct patient care services such as assessing and devising a treatment plan for individuals requiring both long term care and acute care.
  • Handle work obligations in line with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, relevant professional standards, and state/federal laws.
  • Keep private information in the strictest confidence. Share information when the recipient’s entitlement to access is apparent and it’s in the patient’s best interest.
  • Work together with other members of the staff, the patient, and the patient’s family to plan and provide care, Maintain an accurate record of attendance as well as the administration of services, treatment, and any other documents in a timely manner.
  • Recommend to PT potential changes to treatment programs and exercises to maximize outcomes. Maintain and submit company/facility-required paperwork.
  • Be a point of contact for patients and their families to provide efficient care coordination and appropriate resource referrals in the healthcare team and the community.

Skills:

  • Active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthesis training are all part of the patient’s treatment regimen.
  • Observes, records, and reports the patient’s reaction to therapy and changes in the patient’s condition to the supervising PT, supervising nurse, and/or the physician.
  • Communication abilities that are both effective written and verbal, knowledge of acceptable treatment concepts and practices, and knowledge of therapy principles and practices that are particular to the elderly population are all required.
  • Teaching the patient’s loved ones and other members of the medical team about their role in treatment and how they might help the patient.
  • from an accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program A valid driver’s license from the state is required. Although it’s a plus, working with the elderly isn’t a must. Typing speed of forty words per minute.
