You will give professional advice to the department as a Landscape Architect, and you will assist in the examination of planned projects in the city, including Landscape Plans, Irrigation Plans, and specifications. To guarantee compliance with City requirements, you will perform site inspections and offer construction administration. In addition, this role will develop and investigate landscape code updates, collaborate with internal and external divisions, and give design suggestions.

Qualifications:

• Assist higher-level staff with responsibilities such as writing reports, meeting minutes, memos, and correspondence, and teaching landscape designers and interns.
• It is the responsibility of this department to design, prepare, and coordinate the construction documents, which include the layout, construction, grading, drainage, irrigation (including the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance – MWELO), and landscape plans, as well as technical specifications, details, and cost estimates for the construction project.
• Manages the selection process for consultants, in which they also take part, writes up performance standards and budget estimates, supervises and organizes the consultant’s work, assesses the performance of the consultant and the work product, and monitors the progress payments.
• Make landscape architecture project plans, such as conceptual designs, design development, construction specifications, construction paperwork, or needs.
• If things like on-site inspections, punch list monitoring, and installation are done right, it’s more likely that the final plans and details will be carried out. Tell customers or people working on the construction to keep an eye on all subcontractors and the work they do.
• Change orders, RFIs, correspondences to contractors, construction status, and any other issues with contractors are among the duties of the contract administrator on assigned projects. The contract administrator also prepares agendas for on-site project construction meetings with inspectors and contractors and reviews daily inspection reports.
• Document your field research. Review prior reports and data, inventory landscaping and renovations, and take measurements to evaluate what’s inhibiting future growth and what might be done.
• Staff in landscape architecture manages and inspects construction, does field investigations for design or facilities-related work, evaluates the condition of facilities and sites, checks for ADA compliance, and writes narrative scoping programs for construction projects that include program requirements and cost estimates.
• Make sure the design meets regulatory standards while providing value to the client and providing a long-term, sustainable and resilient design.
• Coordinates, supervises, and directs the work of other landscape architects and other professionals to ensure the successful completion of all site and park development initiatives. Procurement and administration of park consultants are handled by this person, if necessary.

Skills:

• Accredited bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, or a similar discipline. One year of sufficient experience may replace one year of post-high school education. Additional education may replace experience.
• Modern landscape architecture design and construction methodologies as well as certain technical ideas applicable to landscape architecture are covered in this course.
• Maintain a current, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license without alcohol and/or drug restrictions or outstanding charges. Landscape architecture expertise.
• It’s important to know the basics of landscape architecture as well as the tools and methods used to make landscape designs and projects.
• Rules, rules, ordinances and laws governing landscape architecture and construction, as well as soil science, planting, irrigation, and landscape upkeep at the federal, state, and local levels.
