The Rigger is in charge of inspecting, maintaining, and ensuring the quality of all lifting equipment used to transport commodities by crane to or from maritime vessels. Ascertain that the job being done and the equipment being utilized satisfy the Company’s safe working requirements.

Qualifications:

• Although the majority of the job demands individual initiative and judgment, working as part of a team is vital when it comes to rigging installation.
• Drilling, fastening, and testing head blocks, mule blocks, sheaves, and winches, as well as components of counterweighted, winched, and dead hanging systems.
• Working at elevations ranging from twelve to sixty feet usually necessitates the use of safety gear and climbing.
• Large lifting equipment must be set up and secured with the use of pulley, rope, and a hoist by a rigger. Performs physical labor as part of one’s job duties.
• Assures the safety of workers and property by indicating or speaking to individuals responsible for lifting and moving weights.
• All rigging equipment, including planks, fiber ropes, wire ropes, chains, swing scaffolds, and other rigging equipment, is examined, tested, and maintained.
• Secures loads to rigging using hand and power equipment to provide support or ready them for movement.
• Lifts and lowers various kinds of supplies, machinery, and/or equipment safely to and from working platforms as well as to and from working platforms, cars, streets, floors, and other levels of building or vessels.
• This position’s success depends on the holder’s ability to arrive on time, record absences, and follow business standards about these activities.
• Some of the specific jobs in this project include installing hardware in existing buildings, hanging pipes, beams, or tracks, and installing hardware in concrete, steel, wood, and block walls.

Skills:

• At least five years of full-time Rigger experience in the preceding 10 years, fulfilling the tasks and obligations listed in Duties and Responsibilities.
• Under general supervision, moves, laces, and secures large things, such as machinery and structural parts, using rigging equipment and ladders; does associated operations.
• To be appointed, candidates must be clean of drugs. During the course of their work, riggers are subjected to random drug and alcohol testing.
• The employee is often needed to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, squat, and/or sit throughout the course of their work.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of assorted materials and components on their own.
