Job Description

The Sales Clerk uses professional selling skills to market common products to clients. Works as part of a sales team to deliver service that anticipates and exceeds the expectations of customers. Assists with all areas of the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar’s entire operation, including but not limited to: opening and shutting the Convenience Bar, preparing, displaying, refilling commodities, and cleaning stations and equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Engages customers to help them buy. Helps clients choose products and suggests add-ons for purchases. If available, allow customers to purchase extended product warranties. Explain the plan’s pros and cons.
  • Add new things to shelves by relocating current items and presenting them correctly and in accordance with safety requirements. Manage inside sales order entry tasks. Demonstrate a feeling of urgency and an upbeat attitude.
  • Everything from opening and closing procedures to pricing and markdowns, as well as the timely submission of all required papers, must be followed exactly.
  • Setup, usage, upkeep, and warranties of different product price points are all covered in the course of learning about the products. Provides clients with information about a product in a way that is both clear and understandable.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the demands and expectations of your customers. Understands how to set up and maintain account order entry. Collaborate with other divisions to complete assignments and meet account requirements.
  • Safety is the most important thing in everything we do, for our Team Members, our guests, and our products. Give our guests the best service possible and always try to please and surprise them, as well as our vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Request that all customers round up their purchases to support our objective, and thank them for their support. Follow all cash-handling procedures and operate the cash register.
  • Express your excitement for food with your coworkers and guests, and use appropriate suggestive marketing techniques in your contacts with them.
  • Maintain the appropriate procedures to guarantee that the store’s out-of-stock percentage goals are consistently met. To place an order, just look for the proper shelf tag or order button.
  • Ensures that designated areas are completely supplied and product is nicely placed. The ability to effectively share information about new inventory arrivals, product discontinuation due to poor demand or low sales volume, and other issues with the store manager or supervisor is essential. The employee participates in departmental meetings and actively wants to discuss ideas on customer service, work performance, achieving store/department sales targets, etc.

Skills:

  • Customer service, restocking, and keeping the store looking nice all require standing for long periods of time. They have to stand, walk, and bend as part of their jobs. They have to squat and kneel as well. They have to be able to pull, push, and lift things.
  • If you have a high school diploma or its equivalent, you’re better off. If you’re at least sixteen years old and can lift light weights with your hands and feet for lengthy periods of time, then you’re ready to join our team! (no more than 5 pounds a time)
  • It is needed that you have the ability to both teach and learn from others, as well as the capacity to lead people and learn from them, and that you are able to take on more responsibilities as they are assigned.
  • A minimum of two to three years of effective retail sales experience with exceptional customer service is required, as well as basic computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and handle money in a retail or quick-service restaurant for a minimum of one year I’m not a complete novice when it comes to the business of finance.
