In the home-building process, the Drywall Finisher completes the manufacturing production processes assigned to their team. To ensure that production is as efficient and safe as possible, the role follows conventional production processes and maintains safe work habits.

Qualifications:

• Work with other tradespeople and subcontractors to execute high-quality maintenance in a timely and economical manner while communicating and working with supervisors and customers.
• Maintaining our company’s physical assets in excellent condition, protecting them from damage and overuse, reporting any required repairs, and keeping your assigned workspace clean and organized are all indicators of good stewardship.
• Before final finishing, apply texturizing compounds or primers to walls or ceilings with trowels, brushes, rollers, or a texture hopper. Use metal molding at wall corners to attach wallboard and metal structural components.
• Adhere to established safety norms and laws to maintain a safe and clean environment. Personal protection equipment (PPE) should be carried by each individual (PPE).
• Respect the division’s attendance policies and be on time for your shift.
• Finishes interior surfaces thoroughly to enhance and protect them, including painting (with rollers, brushes, and spray treatments), restoring vinyl wallpaper, staining wood, and applying many other finishes. Preparing and finishing walls and surface areas with hand and power tools, repairing damaged wood and metal doors, and performing Finisher-related duties are all extremely important.
• Produce things that match our quality standards while also reaching our productivity targets as part of a team.
• Spread sealing compound between boards or panels or over cracks, holes, nail heads, or screw heads with trowels, broad knives, or spatulas.
• Maintaining communication with your supervisor and reporting any job-related difficulties, as well as ensuring that all equipment and supplies are used safely and efficiently.
• Planning: Assist your Team Leader and Area Coordinator in planning and organizing your area’s production operations by addressing predicted material shortages, identifying critical tool maintenance, and communicating any quality or productivity difficulties.

Skills:

• Knowledge in the construction and/or manufacturing industries is desired.
• Have the ability to perform physically strenuous tasks.
• It is necessary to have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• For a candidate to be successful, he or she must have a strong sense of self-confidence and leadership, as well as a commitment to continued education and development of one’s abilities.
• As a high school student, it is advised that you take classes in carpentry, shop class, mechanical drawing, and basic math.
