Our Finance Department is now looking for a Billing Manager. The department provides a chance for a billing specialist to join an inventive and collaborative team that supports the firm’s lawyers’ billing requirements. The Billing Manager will report to the Senior Billing Manager and work closely with the Finance team.

Qualifications:

• Oversee direct reports’ schedules and overtime, including providing mentoring and training and conducting annual performance assessments for billing analysts (and other offices as assigned).
• A thorough grasp of the billing and payment conditions of the client, discount agreements, and the preferred billing methods of the lawyer and the client must be maintained so that bills are issued on time and precisely, as well as preferences for both parties are taken into consideration..
• Make a difference in the following areas: customer happiness; training; compliance; financial effect; and audit results Present your findings and ideas to the company’s top management. Incorporate CIAC issues into other work processes and initiatives by working with other organizations to find ways to enhance the process.
• Manages the formulation and implementation of policies, procedures, and processes for the CIAC extension department in order to increase performance, regulatory and policy compliance, and customer satisfaction. Drives PSCO’s process and policy standardization. Identifies and pursues gaps in policies, procedures, and processes that have an influence on operational performance.
• Recognize the requirements of the department and the customers in terms of training and compliance assistance. Make sure that resources are allocated to address these demands. Provide comments and suggestions to other departments on problems affecting the company’s financial and customer satisfaction objectives, as well as regulatory compliance.
• In order to enable efficient communication among partners, administrative workers, and the finance department, it is essential to have excellent working ties with the legal and billing departments.
• Be a part of the hiring and training processes for new billing staff and develop educational materials to be used by lawyers, secretaries, and legal assistants to learn about billing practices.
• Recommendations for writing off old or contested debts and maintaining billing rates properly
• PSCO’s CIAC Extension Policy will be successful if PSCO’s internal resources and relationships are managed properly. For tariff compliance, provide leadership and assistance to extension colleagues. Develop, discuss, and execute consistent process improvements in response to changes in the Colorado tariff and SOX Key Controls. Verify that CIAC payments are being collected and processed correctly, and then authorize refunds if necessary. CIAC expansions need prompt communication to both internal and external organizations. Make that everyone involved in the CIAC extension process receives adequate training on the matter.
• In coordination with the Senior Billing Manager, develop standard processes and procedures for all phases of the billing cycle, and preserve current documentation of such methods.

Skills:

• Successful candidates must have excellent customer service talents, as well as excellent verbal, writing, leadership, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to engage successfully with people at all levels.
• Candidates must be proficient in Aderant or a billing industry standard collection software tool as well as Microsoft Office and must be familiar with advanced Microsoft Excel features such as pivot tables, charts, graphs, and formulas.
• Capable of analyzing data and procedures and collaborating with other departments to do root-cause analysis and resolve issues.
• For a successful project manager, it is essential to have excellent time management and organizing skills.
• To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience working in the utility industry.
