Qualifications:

• Making sales goals a reality by way of strategic route planning, detailed report writing, and active participation in promotional activities.
• The various credit and loan options and their associated terms and conditions should be made known to customers.
• Make appointments to speak with potential borrowers in order to acquire the necessary information for loan applications and address any concerns they may have.
• Get in touch with mortgage application processing and underwriting for help fixing any problems.
• Determine whether or not to grant a loan by reviewing an applicant’s income, debt, and property.
• In order to stay at the top of your field, it’s important to continually educate yourself through courses and seminars, as well as to build your professional network through membership in relevant organizations and associations.
• Keeps up-to-date on all processes associated with originating, processing, appraising, underwriting, and closing government- and privately-insured mortgages in accordance with company and investor standards.
• Promote your wares to consumers and businesses alike with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service.
• To find potential borrowers for loans, analyze possible lending markets and create referral networks.
• By letting the applicant know about additional criteria, you can improve loan applications and supporting paperwork.

Skills:

• Complete familiarity with the philosophy, policy, underwriting, processes, documentation, and systems involved in selling products in retail settings.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are examples of standardized software applications.
• At least three years’ recent experience in generating sales from cold calling and networking within the buying community is required.
• You’ll need strong analytic skills to assess credit applications and spot market tendencies.
• The ideal candidate for the role of loan officer has excellent communication skills in both spoken and written forms and can work effectively with a wide range of people.
