Qualifications:

• Engage local residents and elected officials in order to uncover potential narrative sources and characters. Develop and build relationships in the local community for stories.
• Assist news producers, assignment editors and managers in developing new stories, progressing in the field and/or developing breaking news stories by maintaining open communication channels.
• Topics are chosen and researched; sources are contacted and interviewed; notes and audio recordings are kept; stories are written and edited; and audio is produced for broadcast.
• Produce segments and packages via filming, scripting, editing, and packaging. Long-format interviews, as well as live ones, will be done. Programming and uploading to the station’s different digital platforms.
• Serve as a local audio reporter who will be responsible for generating short as well as feature-length audio articles for digital and audio platforms.
• Ideas for significant series pieces and lead articles for daily news broadcasts might be provided by the contributors. Produce news scripts based on extensive research. For on-air content, choose video and manage editing and graphic design creation.
• Conceptualize, compose, edit, and create station news packages in collaboration with news producers, managers, and photographers. As needed, create additional video and graphic presentations.
• Collaborates with the program’s producers and writers to deliver material for the show that is consistent with the editorial tenets of the station, the distinctive character of the broadcast, and the interests of the audience.
• Assume the role of an on-air reporter for the specified program. Become a replacement anchor for all news shows that are called for, if you are available.
• Create ideas for stories, do research and make arrangements for interviewees, gather material out in the field, write and voice the narrative, and present the story live on the designated broadcast as scheduled.

Skills:

• Reporting, narrative, media production, and communication skills required. Research and find news angles.
• It’s important for analysts to be able to work with people from many different departments and organizations. The ability to turn complicated ideas into easy-to-understand concepts and sound bites that media outlets want to cover.
• Capacity to digest vast quantities of knowledge and data and to build a captivating narrative backed by the facts Capability to collaborate with people and groups representing a variety of roles and organizations.
• Have a bachelor’s degree in a comparable discipline such as journalism or mass communication, or At least two years of experience as a reporter, anchor, or host in the media.
• Ability to write, edit, and make things under tight deadlines without sacrificing quality or credibility, Ability to take in a lot of information and data and use it to make a compelling story that is backed up by facts.
