Qualifications:

• Understand and follow corporate, customer, and health/safety rules, as well as weight and size standards and any other applicable legislation. These are items that the candidate should be aware of.
• Performs the tasks of a Rigger once the Crane Operator responsibilities are accomplished and the workload for the primary job above allows.
• The control panel allows you to maintain tabs on the status of the procedure and make adjustments as needed. All duties must be carried out in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
• Broken or malfunctioning components are identified and reported to the supervisor by the crane operator who inspects the crane. The lifting mechanism of the crane should be cleaned and lubricated before use.
• This profession requires the ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals, blueprints, drawings, and specifications, as well as utilize arithmetic to determine load weights, wire, sheaves, and fitting sizes.
• The person is able to operate in all weather conditions and notify any difficulties that arise. Executes additional duties as directed by superiors.
• The following tools will be used: chains, nylon slings, pallet jacks, magnets, vacuum jacks, spreader rod, softeners, tape measure, hammer, punches, pliers, crescent wrench, and paint stick marker You must have a good knowledge of all of these things in order to be considered for this position.
• To check the crane and cab, you must climb a vertical ladder (to a height of 25 feet), fill out inspection documentation, operate the crane (4 hand levers, 1 foot brake), and complete steel orders.
• This work requires you to procure and examine rigging, connect rigging to a load, verify travel path, blow whistle, signal crane operator, direct load to destination, place load, detach rigging, and return to storage rack.
• Work with riggers and truck drivers to lift products and other cargo using radio or visual signals and other means of communication.

Skills:

• With a height of 30 feet or more, you must have extensive past experience operating a crane cab and bridge crane (or something comparable).
• NCCCO or CIC certification is required. It’s necessary to have a current Department of Transportation medical card. Certification or permission is necessary from the Safety Department, Equipment Manager, or Operations Manager. The municipal government has required it (DC requires operators to be licensed). You must pass a practical test.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment is required.
• Capacity to guarantee that all safety and housekeeping rules are observed, machine capacity is not exceeded, and all tools, supplies, and equipment are correctly accounted for and stowed at the end of each workday.
• In order to ensure that the physical health and capacity to fulfil the tasks of this job are maintained, a pre-employment physical examination is required.
