Job Description

As a part of our Engineering Financial Operations Team, a Project Accountant is responsible for delivering high level financial analysis on a portfolio of projects throughout their life cycle. Additionally, they must actively work with project managers to monitor and evaluate how well projects are doing in regard to their budgets. Another responsibility of a project accountant is to accurately set up the project in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.

Qualifications:

• Manage the projects that the project accounting manager has given you in terms of finances.
• The majority of your day would be devoted to tracking and evaluating the financial results of projects.
• Assist the project managers, the regional finance manager, and the project accounting manager.
• Must be well organized, capable of prioritizing competing demands, attentive to detail, accurate, and self-critical of work.
• It is essential that the candidate be able to recognize potential problems before they affect project profitability and aid in the creation of a remediation strategy.
• It is your duty to read the contract carefully and comprehend its conditions, including those relating to the project’s kind, its intended scope, and its payment provisions.
• Monitors the building projects and utility databases to verify that they are kept up to date.
• Ensures that any necessary adjustments, such as change orders, invoices, or extra services, are credited to the correct account. It is the responsibility of this committee to prepare transfers of expenditures or encumbrances from the general fund to the proper accounts for examination and approval.
• Make that the subconsultant budget is generated in compliance with the conditions outlined in the contract.
• Assembles and arranges distinctive financial reports related to building projects.

Skills:

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) is required, and Excel knowledge at the Beginner Level is required. Oracle Accounting software experience is recommended.
• It is necessary to be able to identify problems and make proposals for their resolution. Policy and process expertise is essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of and aptitude for using substantial expertise to difficult fiscal management ideas and procedures.
• It is essential to have great written and spoken English skills for this role.
• Be trustworthy, adaptive, cooperative, and eager to learn in order to succeed in this position.
