Job Description

The Production Artist’s main job is to make print and digital mechanicals. This individual will work closely with our internal studio team in addition to project managers, stakeholders, producers, art directors, and designers. Expertise in digital and print file setup is required for this position. At every stage of a project’s development, they must be able to think ahead and address potential problems before they arise. You need to be very methodical and focused on finding answers. They must also coordinate with both internal and external parties on specifications, file delivery, assets, costs, and billing.

Qualifications:

• collaborates closely with the design group to analyze designs, recipes, and the proposed concept, and implements the chosen solution.
• Ensure that your brand’s visual aspects are consistent as they are applied to various products sourced from various locations.
• Prepare artwork submitted in a variety of formats for production and address any artwork issues that crop up throughout production.
• Obtaining the required approvals and making the necessary changes to the submittal papers are all your responsibility.
• Collaborate with the printer and the artistic group to find solutions as they arise.
• Cooperate with graphic design, art, and industrial design teams to ensure printed products remain true to the original concept.
• Excellent time management skills; consistently meets or exceeds project deadlines.
• In a position to receive instructions and create creative campaigns, as well as build derivative components and resizes based on a preexisting visual language.
• Maintaining order in the revision process and communication throughout teams is essential.
• The person who proofreads tech packs must be able to troubleshoot art/embellishment problems and provide a quick solution.

Skills:

• You should be adept with software applications such as FlightCheck, the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Possess excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills, and be able to work well with colleagues at any level of their job.
• You know your way around working with a printing vendor to coordinate the printing process and ensure that deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Must have demonstrated skill with MAC and all relevant programs, including Adobe Creative Suite tools, particularly Illustrator.
• Minimum 2+ years graphic design, apparel design, and/or apparel product development expertise.
