Job Description

Procurement managers are in charge of ensuring that an organization’s buying policies and processes are followed to the letter and that all necessary materials, supplies, equipment, and services are purchased efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include assisting department directors/VPs with their buying requirements by implementing procurement systems and solicitation (RFP, RFQ, IFB, public works bid) procedures and administering contracts. Manages contracts for database management with application knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Develop, implement, and enhance vendor management methods, techniques, and policies in conjunction with key internal and external stakeholders in order to fulfill performance targets.
  • Plans and runs the RFP processes to meet the goals and needs of the program. Works with internal stakeholders and clients to set up, manage, create RFPs, and analyze buying projects.
  • Manage insurance policies and collaborate with an insurance broker; administer all lines of insurance bids; evaluate with executive team; manage insurance certificates and liens; maintain insurance records and files; manage insurance renewals. Create reports according to the requirements.
  • Consider ERP and manufacturing material demands based on assembly needs, component replenishment, replacement parts, production setups, engineering adjustments, and enterprise supplies.
  • Analyze spending operations and seek for ways to enhance and boost the quality of things purchased, delivery timeliness, and inventory management efficiency.
  • In case of product shortages, risk management must be implemented. Keep all departments’ product and vendor prices up to date.
  • Organize and administer buying policies, methods, and activities. In the current system, you may control the contractual process, bids, procurement, records, and renewals.
  • Communication at all levels of the organization on operations, scheduling, or specifics of projects or contracts with internal and external representatives.
  • With the assistance of the business’s financial, legal, and compliance departments, negotiate contracts that are beneficial to the organization. Monitor and delegate responsibilities for purchasing resources to other departments as needed.
  • To ensure contract compliance, keep procurement records current, conduct contract reviews, and have a well-organized central file system for contracts and renewals.

Skills:

  • Expertise in the use of software as a service applications and the many license options available. must be able to collaborate with and manage a team that is spread out throughout the country A background in law or a JD is preferred, and certification in ISM or APICS is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement, or minimum of 2 years’ experience managing supply chains. Proven abilities in negotiation and interpersonal communication, both of which are necessary for building connections with vendors and suppliers.
  • This job requires an undergraduate degree in business administration or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an approved institution of higher learning; however, any four-year degree will suffice.
  • Contract law, negotiation, market research, and contract formulation and administration are necessary. Knowing how governments buy products and services
  • Ability to examine and grasp company processes, elicit and identify demands, develop potential solutions, etc.
