Job Description

The Procurement Manager manages an efficient and successful buying operation for materials, supplies, equipment, and services based on relevant legislation and purchasing policy and procedures. Implement buying systems and solicitation (RFP, RFQ, IFB, public works bid) procedures, and administer contracts to help department managers/directors/VPs with their purchasing requirements. Manages contracts and database applications.

Qualifications:

  • Spending operations should be analyzed to find ways to enhance and raise the quality of things purchased, the speed of delivery, and inventory management optimization.
  • Working with the company’s financial, legal and compliance divisions, ensure that contracts and conditions are favorable Oversee and allocate responsibilities across departments as needed for the support of buying resources..
  • Numerous meetings with internal staff members as well as representatives from external clients on operations, scheduling, or specific components of projects or contracts at various management levels.
  • Develop risk management measures to help you avoid losing money in the case of product shortages. Keep track of price changes in items and vendor prices and keep appropriate departments informed.
  • In order to meet the program’s objectives and criteria, the RFP processes will be designed and managed. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to construct, manage, and create requests for proposals (RFPs), as well as analyze buying initiatives.
  • Perform an analysis of the manufacturing business resource planning as well as any other necessary material requirements based on the needs of assembly demands, component replenishments, replacement parts or materials, production setups, engineering adjustments, and enterprise supplies.
  • Work with insurance broker to manage insurance policies, bids, certificates/liens, records/files, and renewals. Create required reports.
  • Develop, execute, and improve vendor management procedures, tools, and policies with the help of key internal and external stakeholders.
  • In charge of buying operations, rules, and processes. In the current system, manage the contractual process, bids, procurement, records, and renewals.
  • Review contracts and manage an effective central file system for contracts and renewals to ensure that contracts are being complied with at all times.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of contract law, negotiating concepts, procurement methods, market research methodologies, and contract formulation and administration is essential. The ability to understand public sector buying practices and processes is preferred
  • Buying or procurement experience of at least five years is preferred. Ability to develop trusting connections with suppliers and vendors via effective communication and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical abilities, including the capacity to investigate and comprehend company procedures, elicit and specify needs, and locate suitable solutions and possibilities.
  • This job requires an undergraduate degree in business administration or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an approved institution of higher learning; however, any four-year degree will suffice.
  • Knowing how to use and license software as a service Working in and leading a remote team is second nature to me. An ISM/APICS certification is preferable, as is a JD or legal background.
