When the Store Manager is not present, the Key Holder is in charge of opening and closing a retail establishment. This role provides management, monitoring, direct customer assistance, and ensuring that the shop’s aesthetic meets requirements. In retail enterprises, you are in charge of the day-to-day operation of cash registers and credit/debit machines. Duties include POS transactions, products handling, stock processing, and stockroom management. A sales floor merchandiser receives, stores, and replaces merchandise in addition to hoarding it.

  • Keep the shop clean and well-maintained, set up loss prevention rules, make sure receipts are processed quickly, keep the shelves full, and price things correctly.
  • With the help of shop managers, assist them in making sales calls outside the store. Ensure that all e-mails and phone calls are dealt with promptly, politely, and efficiently.
  • The business is opened and closed properly. This role’s primary responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness, order, and orderliness of the sales floor, stock room, and outside product area.
  • Support your management team directly by executing your jobs with attention and speed.
  • Attain and surpass daily sales and productivity targets—all while assisting others in doing the same.
  • Keeps up-to-date on payment and exchange rules, as well as security procedures and client demands in order to improve service while also reducing security concerns.
  • Tenders for purchases, processes cash or credit card payments, counts money and serves customers at the register.
  • Greets and helps customers; answers professionally and promptly to client enquiries and complaints; handles customer questions/concerns. Maintains current knowledge of guiding concepts and POS system modifications.
  • Create an atmosphere where customers are inspired, driven and compelled to return again and again.
  • Reconcile product invoices to commodities received, shipped, and transferred as required for appropriate inventory by entering all receiving, shipping, and transfer paperwork precisely into the computer system.


  • It’s important to be able to stand or walk for long periods of time; push or pull; bend/stoop/crawl/reach above shoulders/kneel; climb a ladder; and carry up to 40 pounds, such as fixture parts and cartons of product.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office abilities, particularly Excel and Word proficiency, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, are required for this position.
  • At least three years of retail or customer service experience is required for this role, as is a desire to provide exceptional customer service and sales.
  • Capacity for establishing and maintaining excellent working connections with coworkers, departments, and the general public.
