Job Description

The Payroll Analyst will have strong technical and communication skills, will effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and will participate in system and payroll processing continuous improvement initiatives. Responsible for ensuring that all components of the payroll cycle, such as taxes, benefits, and wage attachments, are processed, reconciled, audited, and submitted properly and on schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Resolve issues and discrepancies, and provide technical information regarding transactions, records, policies and procedures that are related to each other.
  • Employee position changes are documented in the system to determine whether adjustments are needed when employees are moved, promoted, degraded, or become full- or part-time.
  • Predict the cost of salaries and benefits for budgeting and negotiations; A thorough control sheet for each payroll cycle is essential for budgetary purposes.
  • This position’s responsibilities include organizing the organization’s bi-weekly payroll operations. Before moving on to the next stage of the processing, create each task, examine the results, and resolve any errors.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with business users in order to ascertain and explain the needs of the company, transform requirements into system functionality, and provide suggestions to guarantee that the system is operating at its peak efficiency.
  • Maintaining intricate and private accounting and bookkeeping records as part of a broad range duties related to processing and administering employee pay.
  • Answer state and federal demands. Report ADHOC. Run month-end, quarterly, and yearly payroll reports, evaluate transactions, and address discrepancies.
  • Tax, social security, unemployment insurance, and retirement contributions are all included in the payroll for all District employees. Every employee in the district should have up-to-date records for taxes, benefits, membership fees, and other deductions. Make adjustments to the tax loads if required.
  • Work closely with Human Resources personnel on monthly payroll-related activities, such as contract pay, BenefitFocus processing, termination lump sum payments, employee termination eforms, extra pay eforms, contract pay eforms, and overpayment/underpayment analysis and resolution.
  • Follow up with employees to ensure data is accurate and fulfills policy and procedure requirements. Determine whether modifications are required and implement them to guarantee compliant data in reports/systems.

Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that would include the majority of the criteria stated below, is required. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience might be an equivalent combination.
  • Level 2 demands a minimum of three and a half years of relevant analytical and reporting expertise, whereas Level 3 requires a minimum of five and a half years of such experience, including garnishment processing.
  • Understanding of payroll processes from time capture to final payroll tax payments Experience of automated payroll systems is necessary, with SAP knowledge highly desired.
  • Workday experience in an analytical capacity for a minimum of two to four years; knowledge of the following Workday modules is preferable but not required: In the field of Human Capital Management (HCM), topics like as payroll, benefits, wages, bonuses, and other kinds of payment are often discussed.
  • It’s suggested that you have time-reporting experience. Experience with union contracts is preferred but not essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
