The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for calling on customers in an assigned territory, building relationships with new and established customers, demonstrating products and/or services for customers, providing quotes and referring orders to inside sales managers, and following market trends and competitors’ products and pricing.

  • Assigned territory/market segment consists of creating, developing, and maintaining commercial ties with current and future consumers in order to generate new business for the company’s products and services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone, in written form, and in person within the context of a highly professional, technical/clinical, consultative inside sales workplace. Ability to interpret communications and provide suitable responses in a timely way
  • Plan and conduct research using databases, the internet, and industry tools, demonstrating a solid understanding of customer stakeholders and their requirements and relating them to the solution that is being delivered.
  • Demonstrate technical understanding of sales technologies (Web, database, CRM, Order Management, reports) and the ability to effectively express technical and/or clinical information in an understandable way.
  • Achieve allocated business objectives and quotas quickly and effectively by working closely with the sales team to coordinate daily activities and processes
  • Ensures the health of current client relationships while developing new ones. Relationships with key decision makers and influencers at all levels of an organization are developed and maintained by the sales team.
  • Information on the market and its competitors is disseminated to all relevant channels inside the company, and relationships and collaborative working partnerships are forged.
  • Lead qualification, quotation creation, price justification, post-sale nurturing, sales reporting, bid searches, and renewals of standing orders are some of the tasks that may be automated.
  • Strive for win-win outcomes with all parties involved, including customers and colleagues, in order to build trust and long-term partnerships through resolving issues
  • As a result of the ability to recognize and prioritize the most important tasks, Achieve corporate goals by working with sales staff on methods that support opportunity creation and closing sales.


  • Capability to read, evaluate, and understand technical processes, government rules, professional magazines, or general business periodicals. Capability to create documents such as reports, commercial letters, and instruction manuals for procedures. Capability to deliver information in an effective manner and reply to questions posed by groups of managers, clients, consumers, and members of the public.
  • There are a number of software applications that are required for this position, including contact management, database management, web design, inventory management, spreadsheet, and word processing.
  • Probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry foundations. Applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • For this post, a bachelor’s degree is recommended, although relevant industrial experience and expertise would also be taken into consideration.. Goal-oriented, self-motivated individuals who can meet deadlines and establish connections in a team environment are the hallmarks of a top-performing Outside Sales Representative (Ex. Rep.)
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with variables in situations where there is little or no consistency. Assist others in completing tasks by following verbal, written, diagrammatic, and time-based instructions.
