The Practice Manager plays a vital role on the administrative staff of the medical center. The Practice Manager works in tandem with the attending physician to ensure the clinic runs efficiently and profitably by increasing revenue and decreasing expenses and fostering a service-oriented environment where patients come first. Among the responsibilities of the hospital administrator is the promotion of an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation among employees. Outstanding interpersonal skills, empathy, compassion, initiative, problem solving, common sense, and multitasking ability are essential for this role. When communicating with customers, it is crucial that you show compassion and use clear language. You’ll also be expected to assist customers and suppliers with HR needs. New hire orientations, as well as resolving disputes between staff and customers, may fall under your purview.

Qualifications:

  • Examine and organize methods used in the workplace, such as but not limited to payroll, cash management, invoice, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Work with HR to evaluate, look into, and address employee issues during the hiring, keeping, and firing of employees.
  • Maintain sophisticated knowledge of software systems for data compilation, storage, and retrieval for managerial reporting.
  • Maintain a risk-free workplace by abiding by all applicable office, state, and federal health and safety regulations, as well as all office and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with the hospital to help with problem-solving and objective-setting in cooperation with Clinical and Practice Management Leadership.
  • Manage the process of creating and executing office budgets, as well as the acquisition of routine office supplies and equipment.
  • Keep an environment conducive to excellent care for patients and positive interactions with customers.
  • Oversee the recruitment process and keep tabs on the day-to-day operations of the medical, administrative, and billing personnel.
  • Planning work hours, allotting vacation time, and keeping tabs on employees’ continuing education requirements.
  • Together with the chief of staff, the hospital’s daily activities are supervised by the Practice Manager.

Skills:

  • Likewise relevant expertise in office administration (2+ years) will be considered.
  • It is necessary to be able to manage all departmental tasks and interact (both verbally and in writing) with patients, physicians, and other departments.
  • Direct supervision experience and a minimum of three years of experience in a related field (medicine, veterinary medicine, customer service, etc.) are also necessary (includes hiring, associate development, etc.).
  • Capable of effectively communicating and analyzing data, as well as having the intestinal fortitude to face and resolve staffing issues head-on.
