Job Description

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for the fundamentals of material handling in a production setting, including receiving, storing, and issuing goods. The Inventory Clerk is also responsible for performing basic shipping and receiving activities, in addition to those linked to the issuance of commodities. This position will have frequent contact with the shop and assembly staff and will help to minimize production delays.

Qualifications:

• Assist with warehouse maintenance activities such as sweeping floors and storing equipment.
• Completing everyday tasks in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of safety and accuracy while recording indirect time requires strict adherence to outlined procedures and guidelines.
• Process adherence and upkeep is your responsibility, and you should be willing to help document any procedures that haven’t been established yet.
• Always strive to provide great customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Send an email or create a ticket in the system if you run into any problems while putting the pieces together or fixing them.
• Responsible for adhering to all food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, such as the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and associated preventive controls.
• Perform cycle counts of the Tool Room’s stock at predetermined intervals.
• Perform cycle and physical inventory counts, and when needed/requested, report shortages, overages, and all inventory levels.
• Workstations should be counted for inventory on a regular basis.
• Keep the tool room under control, provide tools and supplies to production workers, return unused items to their designated storage area, and keep the office and all other corporate property in pristine condition.

Skills:

• Experience working as an inventory clerk in a busy production environment for at least one to two years.
• competence with standard measuring implements such as rulers, tape measures, and calipers.
• Capacity to articulate ideas and concepts clearly in conversation.
• Problem solving skills are necessary, as well as good written and verbal communication skills.
• Skilled in decision making and judgment by weighing the relative costs and advantages of alternative actions to select the best one.
