The Credit Manager manages credit risk monitoring, new client investigations, and collection operations across several industries under the direct supervision of the Director of Credit and the Director of Risk. In the near future, this position will put a lot of emphasis on how to leverage technologies and data to improve efficiency across the credit and collections process.

  • Manage the Credit Team’s Efforts to Collect Payments. Find out what happened, write up a report, and close the books. Get on top of mounting collection issues. Assisting with collections when needed and acting as a point of contact between the customer and sales staff.
  • Consult with management and appropriate staff on complex collections and/or deduction situations requiring extraordinary efforts to resolve.
  • For optimal benefit, cultivate strong customer connections and regularly communicate with customers and internal staff via phone and email.
  • Develop risk and collection analytics and reports for upper management review. Accounts at the highest risk should be reported on in order to provide resolution recommendations.
  • Accounts receivable should be managed so that balances are always at a level that is reasonable for your business and its sector.
  • Take charge of the entire credit and collections department and run all policies and procedures. This division is in charge of new-client onboarding, credit checking, and debt recovery.
  • Maintain a filing log of liens and releases, and consult an attorney if you have any questions.
  • By adopting a “manage by exception” philosophy, continuously look for new methods to automate, streamline, or eliminate tasks in the credit department.
  • You should network with other businesses and organizations, such as legal firms, debt collectors, credit reporting agencies, and other credit associations.
  • Look at the accounts receivable aging reports on a regular basis to see which ones need to be followed up on.


  • competency in analyzing and making sense of business publications, trade periodicals, news pieces, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • The ability to communicate and manage successfully at all levels of the organization and with remote personnel, as well as great customer service skills, interpersonal skills, and negotiation prowess, and these are all musts.
  • The ideal industry experience would be in manufacturing, construction, or petroleum, where the financial and credit leadership responsibilities would be more challenging and would last for at least three years.
  • Possessing a high degree of honesty and reliability, as well as a strong feeling of urgency and a focus on getting things done.
  • Ability to think critically, analyze situations quickly and accurately, and make quick, well-informed decisions are all crucial.
