Job Description

Machine operation, data entering, mail sorting, and record keeping are all part of a Mail Handler’s remit. Qualifications:

  • Use a transporter or pallet jack to load the approved, wrapped, and scanned mail into a truck. assures that the trailer is loaded safely and per specifications.
  • Once completed mail containers have been sorted by project and manually organized to fulfill criteria, they are palletized. Labeling each pallet or cage with the necessary project information and making sure that this information is clearly visible will help ensure the correctness of the pallet’s contents.
  • Make use of automated machinery to stretch-wrap each finished pallet to guarantee final product quality.
  • When scanning a large number of documents, it is best to first create duplicates of each page as needed.
  • Make sure the necessary paperwork is scanned in a timely fashion without sacrificing quality.
  • Place the scanned and banded mail containers on pallets. Checks that the scanned mail containers have been appropriately banded by the strapping machine and that all mail items have been safely contained within the mail container.
  • Pick up outgoing and internal mail from a mail stop or secretary’s desk, and deliver sorted mail there.
  • Automatic document recognition and classification using predefined taxonomies
  • Assists the Mail Expeditor in running the commingling equipment to reduce First Class mail and flats shipping costs to a minimum.
