As a Machinist, you will be in charge of assisting the production process by troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of manufacturing, processing, and equipment. You will also be in charge of relevant safety and housekeeping responsibilities across the facility.

Qualifications:

• Equipment must be dismantled and repaired or replaced with new components to guarantee its proper and safe functioning.
• Perform advanced turning, drilling, milling, and tapping techniques to produce the needed quantity of component components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling, material, program, equipment, and part specifications-related issues. Recognize and suggest improvements to component specifications that will enhance the machine’s capability.
• Using painstaking measurement, ensure that the finished goods are free of flaws and fulfill all required criteria.
• Plans and organizes work by understanding and executing verbal and written directives and requirements.
• Maintaining and running equipment such as lathes and mills is essential in this role.
• Enable component manufacturing by working with software engineers to provide technical information.
• Make use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, and Confined Spaces (PPE)
• In addition to utilizing hand tools and precision measuring devices, a machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a range of manual and CNC machine equipment, as well as conducting traditional shop calculations relating to project dimensions, tooling, and feeds.
• Analyze sample components, blueprints, drawings, and engineering data to discover the manufacturing procedures and sequences of operations, as well as the product dimensions and tolerances.

Skills:

• Prior experience as an Industrial Machinist with a solid understanding of machine technology, construction, operation, and power/control devices, as well as knowledge with metal working properties.
• In the summer, this employment demands a machinist who can operate in temperatures as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• In order to work in mechanical or automotive engineering, you need to have an associate’s degree or two years of experience.
• Perfection in the use of high-tech tools for exact measurements (e.g., calipers, micrometers, drop gages, and gage blocks).
• Familiarity with manual, semi-automatic, and automated technology as well as computer programming (lathes, grinders etc.)
