The Loan Officer is in charge of overseeing their local area. They will market the client’s competitive mortgage products, services, and programs in his or her designated offices and continually identify, develop, and maintain a quality network of business relationships that will serve as a reliable source of referrals for new lending opportunities. They will also consult with clients about their present and future needs in order to assist them in meeting their financing needs. The loan officer is responsible for gathering and reviewing all required supporting loan documentation, ensuring that production and quality meet minimal criteria, and originating and closing a sufficient number of high-quality loans through sales and marketing efforts.

Qualifications:

• Maintains familiarity with company and investor rules for origination, processing, appraisal, underwriting, and closing on government-insured and privately-insured mortgages.
• Reviewing an applicant’s credit history, property assessments, and financial condition might help you determine whether or not it makes sense to give loans.
• Meet with customers to obtain information for loan applications and answer questions about the process.
• Informing the applicant of additional requirements can help improve loan applications and documentation.
• Confer with processing and underwriting to aid in resolving mortgage application problems.
• Plans travel routes, writes sales reports, and takes part in marketing and advertising initiatives to help achieve sales targets.
• Research possible loan markets and build referral networks to find loan candidates.
• Customers should be informed of the many available credit and loan alternatives, as well as the conditions that apply to those services.
• You may stay abreast of developments in your field by taking advantage of learning opportunities, reading scholarly works, making connections in the industry, and participating in professional associations.
• Sell goods to consumers and businesses and push client services that are tailored to specific need.

Skills:

• You’ll need strong analytic skills to assess credit applications and spot market tendencies.
• Applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are examples of industry standards.
• Knowledge of retail product philosophy, policy, underwriting, procedures, paperwork, and systems is required.
• a minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in outside sales initiation, with established contacts and relationships in the buying market
• The ideal candidate for the Loan Officer position is someone who is articulate both orally and in writing and can easily communicate with a wide variety of people.
