Observing and ensuring the safety of swimmers and spectators, lifeguards also enforce rules and respond to emergencies when they arise. Workers need the flexibility to do their duties both independently and as part of a team. Working in this field requires the capacity to deal with the general public professionally and courteously under varying circumstances. In addition to regular business hours, lifeguards may be needed for special events, nights, weekends, and variable schedules.

Qualifications:

• You’re responsible for maintaining the pool area, the common area, the bathrooms, and the sinks.
• The work involves participation in all aspects of the aquatic program, including but not limited to swimming sessions.
• Provides prompt, polite service to members and guests by answering questions and addressing problems within the scope of responsibilities.
• He or she is responsible for enforcing the club’s safety rules and regulations in the pool area.
• To maintain the safety and well-being of pool visitors, it is important to keep track of, follow, and enforce all rules and regulations during swim courses and Family Hours.
• Maintains a safe work environment by following and enforcing all policies, rules, and laws, as well as all pool safety standards and procedures.
• Get the pool, decks, furniture, and lifeguard gear, as well as the bathhouse, fence, and flower beds ready for the summer.
• The capacity to read, write, understand, and communicate in English adequately to carry out the duties of the position.
• Provide water safety services, including monitoring and rescue, and help prevent accidents.
• Guarantees that all policies, rules, and laws are followed, as well as all safe work practices and procedures pertaining to the pool.

Skills:

• A minimum of three months of experience working as a lifeguard is required for consideration.
• Ability to work with people who have special needs.
• Lifeguarding, Community First Aid, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications from the American Red Cross are mandatory for all paid rescue workers.
• The ability to establish and sustain fruitful relationships with coworkers, departments, and the public at large is a crucial skill.
• Earning a high school diploma or equivalent is necessary for this position.
