Helps users of the card catalog by offering information and support. Keeps up the purchase of particular books.

Qualifications:

• Attending workshops, committee meetings, and conferences can help you stay abreast of developments in the field of information management.
• Responsibility for the upkeep, arrangement, and management of library resources and their circulation.
• Suggest appropriate electronic sources in the aforementioned fields as a team member constructing the collection. This entails regularly reviewing new electronic materials and evaluating their usability.
• Purchases library books, magazines, and resources.
• Adhere to the principles of service excellence for all library customers and colleagues.
• Prepares, maintains, and reports relevant circulation, inventory, newspaper, and magazine records.
• In collaboration with the professors, library orientation sessions may be held for classes.
• Creates and sustains a collection well-suited to the inmates in charge of it.
• Recommends library regulations and practices for the Center.
• Helps the library director by assisting with the development, revision, and enforcement of all policies and procedures.

Skills:

• Demonstrate mastery of literary database searching across a variety of databases and operating systems.
• Possessing the capacity to recognize information needs and provide evidence with added value.
• One (1) year of work experience and/or training is necessary, as is responsibility for the operation and maintenance of a small institutional library. Must have a fundamental familiarity with library services, procedures, and structures, which can be attested to through work experience.
• Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills to support education and introduction of library resources.
• Bachelor’s degree in library science or a closely related discipline, or provisional/professional Librarian Certification, needed.
