A department’s billing, accounts receivable, and collections are all under the direction of the Billing Manager, who oversees them all. As well as optimizing efficient billing operations across many locations, this person is in charge of developing, implementing, and enforcing company policy and procedures. With such great visibility comes the need for a strong leader who can effectively set priorities, develop plans, and guide the department.

Qualifications:
- Make a difference in the following areas: customer happiness; training; compliance; financial effect; and audit results Present your findings and ideas to the company’s top management. Incorporate CIAC issues into other work processes and initiatives by working with other organizations to find ways to enhance the process.
- Ensures the success of the CIAC Extension Policy for PSCO by managing internal resources and building connections. To meet tariffs, provide direction and leadership to extension colleagues. As a result of changes in the Colorado tariff and SOX Key Controls, develop, discuss, and execute consistent process improvements. Monitor extension activities, ensure that CIAC payments are correctly collected and processed, and authorize refunds. Ensure that internal and external departments are kept informed of CIAC expansions in a timely manner. All stakeholders involved in the CIAC extension procedure should be provided with training.
- Acquire a thorough understanding of both internal and external training and support requirements. These requirements must be met with enough resources. Provide suggestions and input to other areas of the firm on problems that affect the company’s financial and customer satisfaction objectives, as well as regulatory compliance.
- In order to guarantee that bills are issued promptly and correctly, and that client and lawyer preferences are appropriately handled, it is essential to have a thorough awareness of client billing and payment terms, discount agreements, as well as the preferences of both parties.
- In coordination with the Senior Billing Manager, develop standard processes and procedures for all phases of the billing cycle, and preserve current documentation of such methods.
- Ensure excellent working connections between partners, administrative support personnel, and the Finance Department and billing team by coordinating with lawyers and billing staff as needed.
- Manages the CIAC extension department’s policy, procedure, and process creation and execution in order to boost performance, regulatory and policy compliance, and customer satisfaction. Standardizes PSCO’s processes and policies. Gaps in rules, procedures, and processes that have an influence on operational performance are aggressively identified and pursued.
- Assist in the recruitment of new members of the billing team and the development of educational materials to be used by lawyers, secretaries, and legal assistants in their training on billing processes.
- Maintain billing rates in accordance with suggestions for write-offs of old or disputed amounts.
- Mentor, train, offer ongoing feedback, conduct annual performance evaluations, manage and juggle billing assignments, and control direct reports’ schedules and overtime obligations as needed.
Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, or a similar discipline is required, as well as a minimum of five years of work experience in utility operations, regulatory, accounting, auditing, or business process work experience, or the equivalent.
- It’s also important to have good time management skills, as well as an awareness of the project’s scope and deliverables.
- Analytical skills, including working with other departments and evaluating data and processes, are required for doing root cause analysis and issue solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and leadership skills are necessary, as is the ability to interact successfully with personnel at all levels of the business.
- Candidates must be skilled in Aderant or another industry-standard collection software tool, as well as Microsoft Office, and have a working knowledge of sophisticated Microsoft Excel capabilities such as pivot tables, charts, graphs, and formulae.
