The Cost Estimator creates price quotes based on cost estimations for projects using standard, configurable products. The breadth of industrial activities and the use of existing estimation methodologies are not challenging in this kind of work. When there is no standard practice data, this person assists in the creation of cost data. Final estimates are put together for approval. Variations are often documented with directions for how to reproduce the results.

Qualifications:

• Conduct fact searches, audits and negotiations on behalf of clients while working with a cross-functional team that comprises members from Contracts and Finance throughout the globe.
• Preparation of Cost Analysis: Prepares cost analysis on computer by listing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred during installation of items and organizing them on company server.
• The Cost Estimating Division will set up a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that will be used to figure out how much something will cost.
• Control the flow of communication between the design team, the subcontractors, and the in-house personnel. Obtains cost bids from subcontractors. Notifies the immediate supervisor of any errors or omissions that have been spotted in the things that have been quoted or in the computer database.
• Collaborate with the Technical Support and Product Management teams to validate the product’s economic viability and its place in the market for the allocated product lines.
• As requested by the Cost Estimator, prepare and maintain cost estimates for any and all project deliverables, including but not limited to studies, conceptual design options, preliminary design, and final design. Also prepare and negotiate estimates for Additional / Credit Change Orders in construction and contractor construction bid packages as deemed necessary for the project’s overall budget control.
• Prepare briefings and presentations for executive leadership on program cost positions, the effect of budget changes on sponsored programs, and other cost concerns.
• Keep proper records in PMI (e-Builder), Follow cost-estimating performance (e.g., budget vs bid results)
• Analytical procedures include: setting up the issue, performing background research, gathering and reducing data, showing data for analysis, generating mathematical expressions and making findings.
• Cost estimation outputs can be used to look at how different factors affect the costs of designing, researching, developing, operating, maintaining, and getting rid of a weapon system.

Skills:

• This role needs knowledge of metal assembly best practices in the sign or fabrication business.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture is required, or any degree with experience in construction or design. Two or more years of consistent electrical cost estimating experience for vertical construction or engineering projects is highly preferred.
• Capability to comprehend and correctly interpret construction papers (drawings, specifications, contracts/general conditions) at all stages of the design process.
• Mastery of the fundamentals of physics and a working grasp of basic statistics and statistical reporting are required. Welding and fastening procedures, as well as wind loads, are all desirable.
• Exceptional abilities in mathematics, familiarity with the machine tool industry’s materials and component costs, reading part drawings (including GD&T), interpersonal relations, the ability to negotiate, and phone skills; familiarity with the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system; and experience using Microsoft Office.
