It is your main obligation to provide the department with competent advise.. You’ll also help with the review of municipal projects, such as the Landscape and Irrigation Plans and specifications that go along with them. It is your responsibility to conduct site inspections and supervise construction in order to ensure that it satisfies City standards. This person’s responsibilities include developing and researching improvements to the landscape code, working with other departments both within and outside the company, and coming up with new ideas for design solutions.

Qualifications:

• A collaborative effort between engineers, architects, and agency workers results in a design that is consistent with regulatory requirements, adds value to the client’s project, and is durable and resistant to the elements of time and weather.
• Your duties as a manager include managing consultants, establishing performance standards, budgets, and evaluating their work.
• It is necessary to do field research and documentation to assess current circumstances, review existing reports and data, inventory existing landscaping and improvement projects and identify development restrictions and possibilities.
• Working with the planning department and other departments will help to guarantee that the final landscaping and irrigation plans are in compliance with zoning regulations.
• An examination of hillside overlay properties should be conducted to ensure that disturbance fencing, landscape retention or removal, onsite grading and preservation zones are in compliance.
• Community engagement sessions, public meetings, or internal meetings for park initiatives are coordinated and led by the Parks and Recreation department, board offices, community organizations, or other stakeholders.
• The ability and initiative to produce innovative and aesthetically pleasing design solutions, as well as skill in creating construction documentation using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and LandFX are required.
• There are a variety of tasks that the landscape architect assists with for the department, including construction administration and inspections as well as field investigations to gather information for design and/or facilities work, facility/site condition evaluation and inspection, and ADA compliance assessments.
• Responds to inquiries, suggestions, complaints, and ideas on the design of County Park facilities from individuals, community organizations, department agencies, and public authorities.
• Carry out on-site landscape inspections to ensure that the authorized final landscape and irrigation plans are being followed prior to issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy or release of financial assurance money.

Skills:

• Creating landscape architecture with the use of contemporary technology, design concepts, and particular technical principles.
• His responsibilities include ensuring that all contract plans, specifications and estimates, bid packages and any other contract documents that may be required for the construction projects that have been allocated to him are completed on time and within budget.
• The capacity to use landscape architecture ideas and methods to plan and implement landscape projects.
• Ability to work on a variety of projects and challenges at the same time and to self-manage schedules in accordance with the demands of the project manager or project milestones.
• A bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related discipline from an approved institution is required at the entry level. One year of experience working for a government agency is preferred, but not essential. Work experience may be more valuable than a four-year college degree in certain cases.
