In this Landscape Architect role, you would give professional advice to the department; engage in the examination of planned projects in the City which would include Landscape Plans, Irrigation Plans, and specifications. You will make site inspections and offer construction administration to verify adherence with City requirements. This role will also create and investigate landscape code revisions, interact with internal and external divisions and provide proposals for innovative design solutions.

Qualifications:

• The department’s landscape architectural staff offers services like construction administration and inspection, field investigations to get information for design or facilities-related work, facility/site condition evaluation, ADA compliance assessments, and narrative scoping programs for construction projects with program requirements and cost estimates.
• To ensure the completion of site and/or park development projects, organizes, supervises, and directs other professionals. As needed, coordinates the procurement and administration of park consultants.
• Design and create construction papers such as site plans, building construction (including MWELO), grading, drainage, irrigation and landscape plans as well as technical requirements and cost estimates..
• Collaborating with other industry leaders to ensure that the design not only satisfies legal requirements but also provides value to the customer and is both sustainable and resilient is a great way to accomplish all of these goals.
• Determine the present state of affairs in the area and record it. A thorough examination of the landscape and renovations, as well as measurements to determine what is inhibiting future growth and what can be done to solve the problem, is required.
• Plan landscape architecture projects, including conceptual concepts, design development, construction requirements, and demands. These might all be strategies.
• A project manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of consultants, evaluating their performance, and approving progress payments; he or she is also involved in the hiring process.
• Construction administration jobs include on-site inspections, punch list monitoring, and installations to ensure that the final plans and specifications are adhered to in accordance. Make sure that the work of subcontractors is done properly; advise clients or construction workers as necessary.
• Accomplishes and supervises all agreement administrative functions on client tasks, such as analyzing, trying to prepare, and processing change orders, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), preparing written correspondences to contractors, reviewing construction status, schedule, and any other issues with contractors, preparing agendas for on-site project construction meetings with inspectors and contractors, and reviewing daily inspection reports and weekly work reports.
• Landscape designers and interns will benefit from this program’s practical teaching and direction in the writing of written reports, meeting minutes, memoranda, and correspondence.

Skills:

• All levels of government, including the federal, state, and municipal levels, have established a broad variety of regulations controlling a wide range of topics, including soil science, planting, irrigation, and the maintenance of landscapes.
• It’s important to know the basics of landscape architecture as well as the tools and methods used to make landscape designs and projects.
• Experience in landscape design is required, as well as a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license that isn’t restricted by alcohol and drug infractions or outstanding charges.
• You must have a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, or a closely related field in order to pursue a career in this field. In order to swap one year of post-secondary education for another, one year of appropriate experience must be obtained. If extra training is required, the minimal minimum of work experience may be substituted.
• Concepts of modern landscape architecture technology, design, and construction processes, as well as an introduction to the use of engineering principles to landscape architecture.
