Qualifications:

  • Tastes foods, analyses menus, estimates food requirements, evaluates output, and keeps records to accurately plan production requirements and acquire supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning equipment and dishwashing machines as needed to ensure that all kitchen spaces, tools, and utensils are in good working order.
  • As directed by the Executive Chef, provide high-quality hot and cold foods.
  • Make short- and long-term cash management strategies as well as monthly and yearly cash flow estimates.
  • Meets company requirements for scheduling availability, including nights, weekends, and holiday times.
  • In the absence of the Head Chef or Sous Chef, is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen is safe and efficient.
  • Arranges and cleans all kitchen spaces, such as storage shelves, passageways, workstations, walk-ins, refrigerators, and coolers.
  • The chef de cuisine must be well-organized, well-dressed, and professional. He or she must also be a team player who collaborates effectively.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds, carrying up to 30 pounds, and standing and walking frequently are all necessary.
  • A cook is responsible for the setup, food preparation, organization, sanitation, and production of food and beverage items, as well as closing and storing each work station.

Skills:

  • A year of cooking experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen is required.
  • If you are 18 years of age or older, you must be able to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, past employment, education, and personal references, as per Company policy, unless federal, state, or provincial legislation prohibits it.
  • Must follow all health department and food safety rules set forth by the state and the executive chef, including HACCP and ServSafe concepts.
  • A high school diploma, a GED, or an equivalent is required.
  • Capable of prioritizing assignments and working together with several supervisors.
