Job Description

The Junior Financial Analyst assists the Finance team’s analysts in their analysis, suggestions, and implementation of profit improvement projects, strategic alignment activities, and the achievement of sales and income targets. It is the job of the Junior Financial Analyst to gather and evaluate financial data from a wide range of departments within the firm to determine the financial feasibility of new products, promotions, or projects. The job helps several departments of the organization update reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators. An additional responsibility of the Junior Financial Analyst is helping to prepare and deliver presentations to different members of the executive team.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytic skills and experience in the real world are used to look at the commercial and financial challenges of a project. A full life-cycle cost assessment helps the GOV figure out what the chances are and what the biggest business risks are.
  • In order to offer a full perspective of the project business case, this function does sensitivity analysis and considers the consequences of alternative finance structures, utility rate structures, tax policies, and federal and state policy supports. Advice is given to the government while it works to establish a large-scale renewable energy project.
  • Assist in the planning, analysis, and preparation of recommendations, as well as the implementation, reporting, management, delivery, and maintenance of newly identified budget and financial initiatives within set deadlines that might otherwise have an influence on day-to-day operations.
  • Make sure that all of the department’s requirements are presented in a timely and appropriate manner, Accounting for a leased property, includes keeping note of important dates, maintaining up-to-date schedules, processing invoices, giving journal entries, and doing account reconciliations
  • Track promises, obligations, and expenditures to ensure that the activities being carried out are fulfilling their periodic goals. Assist in the financial implementation and development of financial strategies for assigned initiatives.
  • In addition to processing personnel changes like new hires and terminations, accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliation, and timesheet reconciliation are all included in this service.
  • Assist with Tech Finance analysis and reporting, including monthly/quarterly forecasts, capacity management, accruals, costing, and labor optimization.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency is included in almost every financial analyst job description; expertise with data query/data management technologies is very beneficial (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
  • Additional FMD tasks are likely to be discovered during the Operational/Organizational Assessment or other organizational realignments or remediation.
  • Assist in the development of the budget and strategic strategies. Interact with all levels of management to ensure that all budgets are completed. Analyze the differences between actual and budgeted outcomes.

Skills:

  • Must have expertise analyzing energy use, rates, life cycle costs, and business case techniques for big private projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is necessary; a CPA or Master’s degree is recommended but not essential. Working knowledge of computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Minimum of two years of accounting/finance experience is required; financial analysis expertise is preferred. Experience in a retail consumer products sector is preferred.
  • 5 years of professional experience in DOD acquisition program/project management; or 5 years of professional experience in Navy acquisition program/project management with proven and specialized expertise, preferably in Navy/DOD Financial Management systems.
  • Possessing strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well in a group setting are all essential qualifications.
