Qualifications:

  • Performs general clerical activities, such as answering phones and call lights and welcoming patients and visitors, as necessary by the unit.
  • Biohazardous materials and tools, like needles, urine samples, and collection cups, should be thrown away in the right way to keep the workplace safe and legal.
  • In order to make it easier for patients to have access to the drugs they need, it is important to communicate with patients’ insurance companies and get preauthorization for prescriptions. In situations when preauthorization is turned down, you may try appealing the decision to the insurance company. This may result in the preauthorization being approved.
  • Contribute to a well-functioning and effective office by conducting administrative chores such as making phone calls or answering the phone, scheduling patient appointments, obtaining supplies required for treatment, and tasks that help clinicians further, such as dictation.
  • Assess each patient by asking them about their visit and evaluating their weight, vital signs, and other clinical indicators.
  • Participation in seminars, training programs, in-service meetings, and reading contemporary literature promotes personal development. Shares shared responsibility (with the institution) for competency maintenance.

  • Draw blood, operate a centrifuge, collect urine for drug screenings, pregnancy testing, alcohol tests, and administer injections safely and accurately, as directed by the healthcare professional.
  • Performs a variety of clerical activities, including but not limited to, answering phones and call lights, welcoming guests, and directing them to the appropriate area.
  • Under the supervision of a trained nurse, performs a wide range of fundamental patient care tasks. Notifies the registered nurse of any changes in the patient’s physical or mental status. This individual helps nursing staff react to different emergency patient scenarios.

Skills:

  • ECG administration and basic life support operations certification together with cardiopulmonary resuscitation training completed successfully in a facility-based training program.
  • High school diploma or GED and CNA certification or 1st semester of LPN or RN school.
  • training in phlebotomy, which is mandated by the Department of Health, must be successfully completed, and must be acceptable to the Lab Director and suited to the facility’s workload.
  • Basic life support OR cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as the capacity to communicate effectively in both oral and writing English (BLS OR CPR)
  • Prior experience working as a nurse in an outpatient environment specializing in primary care, drug misuse, or mental health is required, as is a valid certification in CPR or BLS in its most recent form.
