Qualifications:

• Make sure all the laws and regulations are being followed by keeping an eye on the branch’s operations.
• Assist consumers with their everyday banking needs whether they visit you in person, use your drive-thru, night depository, mail, or the internet to conduct their business.
• Providing guidance and access to tools that can improve a client’s financial situation.
• Direct sales of consumer banking products and services are a possible way for you to contribute to the Bank’s overall sales efforts.
• Someone in this role must ensure the safety of the bank’s resources by completing routine checks and balances, keeping client records private, and identifying and tracking all of the bank’s customers.
• The endorsement must be checked, identification must be obtained, and the check must be validated.
• Get cash out of the vault and put it back into circulation as needed to keep teller drawer balances stable.
• Making bank deposits and retrieving lost currency, opening and shutting the office and vault, creating reports, and performing other miscellaneous activities as given by the branch or department manager.
• Maintaining a neat and tidy workspace and dressing professionally can make you feel more confident in casual conversations.
• To better understand the customer’s goals, you can ask the right questions and pay attention to their responses.

Skills:

• Learn the ins and outs of related retail functions such deposit operations, customer service, record keeping, etc. (deposit operations, client care, records management, etc.)
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required, along with at least a year and a half of relevant customer service and sales experience, preferably at a financial institution.
• Flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask are all important in this position, but providing excellent customer service and being accurate, fast, and precise are paramount.
• Essential mathematical competencies, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with decimals.
• Teller machines, calculators, keyboards, encoders, image capture/scanners, Oscar (ATM cards), SEI Trust System, Streamline, and Vertex will all be discussed, as will the associated hardware and software.
